Laura Bush never ran for any office. She is non-political, and always has been.

There is no relationship between her view of abortion and Sarah Palin's........only her husband's.

And her husband's view is as pro-life as Sarah's. Thankfully, he is being recognized for that, and is continuing to speak out for the sanctity of life, long past any so-called 'pandering' to the 'religious right' (never a true statement, ever).

In addition, Laura, in this same book and in interviews, has clearly stated that whatever was wrong with her babies, she would have them and love them. Just like Sarah, Todd, and Trig. Your 'suspicions' are completely wrong, mk.

btw, my husband married a young woman he found in a Baptist church choir. ;)

I submit that her willingness to now promote her views of homosexual marriage and abortion now makes her just one more political animal in the media. To say that she 'never ran for any office' and is non-political is a bit disingenuous in my view, there is no such thing as a 'non-political' First Lady or former First Lady, and we all know it, and while Laura's first name certainly never appeared on any ballot, her last name certainly did, attached to 'George, W.', true?

If the voters had preferred Tipper Gore in even slightly greater numbers, there is a good chance George and Laura would have returned to Crawford Texas in 2000, instead of heading to Washington, so I don't buy that argument about First Ladies not being a factor in politics, they most certainly are, as I see it.

Laura and Sarah are both women. And have a unique perspective of the issue of abortion that quite frankly, us men can never have.

Please note that my 'suspicions' were based on the *possible* events in an alternate universe, but I stand corrected on events in THIS universe, nevertheless. If Laura said that regarding her own then-unborn children, I will be the first to say more power to her, however that sentiment actually creates more of a juxtaposition.

You are incredibly more tolerant than I ever suspected, and I confess to wondering, how did he avoid a local indictment for bigamy?

(cue joke about "that's mighty big o' you", "NO, that's mighty big o' ME!" ... [j/k, I know what you meant! ;)]
