I doubt a scrapyard would even take it. Its only a couple bucks worth of steel and full of concrete. Basically worthless to a scrapyard.

Many of the veteran markers at one of our local cemeteries were recently looted for scrap metal. Thankfully, my grandparent’s WW2 service markers weren’t touched.

But even if it were copper and/or aluminum only a fool would buy into scrap thieves theory because of the timing...
