can you even own firearms in Hawaii? I thought it was near impossible.

(Obama is either incompetent or malicious, and it makes little difference which.)

hmmmm.....question for everybody:
what would you do if a cop or natl. guardsman attempted to disarm you in the wake of a disaster?

It is next to impossible to buy a gun in Hawaii. The few places you can buy one look at you very suspiciously, then you have to fill out the standard paperwork, have your background checked, wait a period of time and pick up your registered gun at a police station. At least that was back in the 80’s. Not sure how much more they've added to the process since then.

Not hard at all. "Assault weapons" are very common at my local range. Stuff you cannot own in California is quite legal here. Handgun mag limits to 10 rounds, rifle mags if they also fit pistol variants limited to 10. But the rifle limit is widely ignored by civilians and police. I mean, who has an AR-15 in handgun format? I have plenty of 20 round mags for my .308 AP4.
You do have to register them with the HPD, which I do not like at all, but if they are now proscribed from seizing them.............
