How did such a draconian anti-immigration bill pass in a state where the pop. is 30% Hispanic?
How about three simple reasons.
(1) 70% aren't Hispanic and you only need 51%. (2) Many Hispanics who immigrated to the US legally are in favor of throwing out the illegals. (3) Illegal immigrants can't vote. So even if 30% of the total population are Hispanic, a considerably smaller amount of legal immigrants can vote and as pointed out in item 2 not all of them are pro illegal immigrants.
