Palin, a potential 2012 presidential candidate, told National Rifle Association members during their annual meeting that the only thing stopping Obama and his Democratic allies from trying to ban guns is political backlash.
"Don't doubt for a minute that, if they thought they could get away with it, they would ban guns and ban ammunition and gut the Second Amendment," said Palin, a lifelong NRA member who once had a baby shower at a local gun range in Alaska. "It's the job of all of us at the NRA and its allies to stop them in their tracks."

"She said Obama is "the most pro-abortion president ever to occupy the White House" and asserted that the health care law would fund abortions."

Here is a good set of links relating to President Obama’s stand against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act:
Killing the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in Illinois
The Born Alive Infant Protection Act is very simple, and is designed to protect children after birth. In attacking the Act, Mr. Obama advocated for infanticide, and when referring to children who survived abortions, he used the phrase, “which some would call a child.”
So if President Obama is for killing children, what is his motivation for wanting to ban guns?
You're not alone, Dem Guard:
For example, it isn't hard to see how gun owners could be targeted under 0care (guns are dangerous -> premiums incresase; you've went to see a psychiatrist after your spouse died -> your med records are under gov't control -> you have "mental issues" and can no longer legally own firearms"
A search of the NRA'S website of "healthcare" produced nothing. "health care" produced this:

Contrast that with a link from GunOwners of America on their homepage:

I belong to both organizations, but I think that the NRA high command is made up of an elitest mentality, while the GOA is more in touch with the “common folk”.
Well, I read the article, I have a number of questions.
Did she mention this during the 2008 presidential campaign? She shouted from the rooftops? Did John McCain shouted from the rooftops? Did they mention his many votes for infanticide?
How in the world to ever elect a president who votes for letting children die? Wasn’t Obama the only person consistently and over and over voting for these horrible bills? I wondered at the time why this wasn’t brought up more? And I read now how he is against private ownership of guns and was this pointed out at the time? Did the Republicans run an ad pointing it out?
Are they going to make all the same mistakes again this time?
I seem to recall that Obama rent a one hour television ad pointing out how he himself was so great and the Republicans did nothing to counter it.
Thanks for the link. :-)
Sarah would go a long way in convincing me that she is the real deal if she would call LaPierre out on that.
I used to agree with you until a freeper said, in better words than I am about to, that what is one thing the Democrats haven’t done with full filibuster-proof control? Gun control. The blue dogs, 65 of them, got together and shot the idea down in Eric Holder’s mind.
Would that happen if the NRA was an extension of the GOP? Doubt it. You have to take the good with the bad.
No, Mr. Mc Cain was telling people “not to be afraid” of Obama, he was a “fine person”, right John?
That one hour TV ad was pathetic, not so much that it occurred, but that it did indeed go unanswered.
Soetoro hates babies, guns, white people, any and everything American. Will this be pointed out or ignored again - great question.
The goa has never done anything on their own. Never. The Second Amendment Foundation has five lawsuits after Heller.
goa = AWOL
Lazy people always have an excuse to do nothing.
What do you know of what I do besides the NRA? I hate to break the news to you, but the NRA is not the only gun rights organization available.
Of course Zero wants a disarmed America. Look how easy it is for them to b-slap those folks in England now that they’re disarmed.
Fascists don’t want you armed.
In my lifetime, I bet there has never been a president who has made so many of us want to buy a gun and learn how to shoot it as a way of protecting ourselves and our homes.
Todd Palin is a lucky guy.
Wayne LaPierre thanked Harry Reid for helping to create a world class shooting range. There’s no doubt in my mind you not only quit the NRA over such a childish excuse but you don’t do anything to help your Second Amendment Rights.
Real Second Amendment supporters would crawl over broken glass to do everything they can so the Bill of Rights survive. That’s what our Founding Fathers did.
