Sister Sledgehammer: Palin takes aim at Dem women
The Politico ^ | May 15, 2010 | Kasie Hunt

Sarah Palin’s political portfolio for the midterm election is beginning to take shape, and the races that interest her appear to share a similar trait—for the most part, they involve a woman on one side of the ballot or the other.

Already she’s embraced a handful of conservative Republican women in House, Senate and governor’s races across the country, delivering more than just her endorsement—she’s campaigned with them and donated to their campaigns as well.

Palin has also put some skin in the game. On Friday, she endorsed state Rep. Nikki Haley in the key early presidential state of South Carolina where Haley trails several male challengers in the polls.

--snip--

Palin is emerging not only as a standard-bearer for social conservatives but as a campaign trail Annie Oakley, a pioneering female pol who not only intends to flex her muscle to carry conservative women to office but also to shove more than a few Democratic women out of the way.

--snip--

“I kinda feel a connection to that tough, gun totin’ pioneer feminism,” she told the enthusiastic crowd of anti-abortion activists gathered to support the SBA List.

“For far too long, when people heard the word feminist, they thought of the faculty lounge at some East Coast woman’s college,” she said. “And no offense to them, they have their opinions and their voice and God bless ‘em, that’s great, but that’s not the only voice of women in America.”(continued)

At least Palin is pro freedom, pro American and pro Western civilization.

I think she’s capable of actually taking action rather than just endlessly blatering and empty talk and rhetoric unlike the current wuss in the The Black House.

The notion that we could at some point have a president would could look at a spending bill and say,”No,we can’t afford that” is incredibly intoxicating.

Governor Palin is really racking up the chits. She'll be able to call in lots of markers in 2012.

Well, now we know that Palin doesn’t play gender identity politics. Good. Says a LOT about what matters.

It is quite an education to see Sarah coming into her own here. I am amazed at what a stategic mind she has. She really does think like a general. She is starting to spread her wings and we are starting to see her move on the national stage and claiming her role.

What I see happening here is Sarah moving on about three levels at once. One is obvious by now to most of us. She is out to hit the Dems hard as she can on the 2010 elections. She is supporting a growing list of candidates to win in the fall. She knows that we have to take back congress first.

The next thing she is doing is she is claiming her role as national leader. She is no longer local and has not been for some time. Sarah is playing on a very large playing field and is making stategic decisions in order to win the larger game. Think Patton. Some of us have not liked some of those decisions. That will continue to happen. I don’t like her support of McCain but at a stategic level I see why. Same with Carley. ‘Nuff said.

What just occurred to me today is how she is preparing the field for her 2012 run, and she WILL run. Sarah sees who she will probably run against in 2012 and it is not Obama. It is Hillary.

The Dems will probaly see that if Sarah runs, her toughest opponent will be Hillary, not Obama. They will push the “First Woman President” as their prize, not Sarah’s.

Sarah is grabbing the title as the nation’s formost woman candidate from Hillary by her real support of woman candidates. Now this is not gender politics. This is strategy.

Hillary claims the role as the formost woman’s candidate by just being a woman. That is no longer enough. Sarah is supporting other woman which Hillary is real weak on. That is because Hillary is all about Hillary. Sarah is about a much larger purpose.

In the process Sarah also eliminates woman Dems as the article points out. Also as 2nd DivisionVet notes Sarah is also targeting the Dem Feminazis. Both in turn cut down Hillary’s power base.

Sarah is a fine stategic thinker. She has a plan and she knows where she is going.

This is exactly how Nixon, a very smart political operator, went from being a failed and washed up CA gubernatorial candidate to President of the United States in six years. That “dummy from Alaska” label the NLA (”Nobody is Listening Anymore”) press keeps pushing looks less and less plausible by the day. God protect this lady from harm.

Seems like she’s playing that multi-level chess that Cdr. Spock and Cpt. Kirk enjoyed, while the Democrats are playing “Chutes & Ladders” with the RINOs and jourbalists. Pretty good for a non-Ivy Leaugue graduate. LOL

“I guess supporting McCain fits the profile then...”

She’s also supported many, many conservatives and is a conservative. I think she could have/should have stayed out of the AZ and CA Senate endorsements.

Palin is a dynamo.

She’s doing alot more for the conservative cause now than she ever could have done as a Governor.

“She was elected, she was promoted, she was given the opportunity to run for vice president because she was a woman. Somewhere inside, there should be something that says, ‘don’t kick them in the teeth, don’t look down on other women,’” said Holtzman,

It seems Sarah is having an affect on the liberal women in Congress.

They've gone from ridicule to fear...and that can ONLY be the result of polls, polls we haven't seen or heard about yet.

There's an entire class of baby-boomer women who have not voted, voted irregularly or actually voted Democrat...that are empty-nesters...with a job. And they are feeling the bite of taxes, shrinking 401k and home equity. If they still have their job, they probably have a family member who doesn't. And close friends.

They, along with white men are going to make quite the impact in November.

I wonder if the fool lefties who forced her out of the Alaska Governorship have realized the enormous, historical blunder they made?

They unleashed a monster. Sarah Cudazilla.

I guarantee you that the DNC and every Dem politician down to the dog catcher level polls every day and are wailing and gnashing their teeth.

That is some fine thinking there and I agree with you. Great job.

The only thing I might add is that Sarah is reaching out to females generally no matter who she runs against. She knows she has got to break the Dem stranglehold on the majority of the female vote and if she can pull it off, the Dems are in serious, serious trouble as a party. The Dems know it, too.

BC -- ping to this post.

I think she could have/should have stayed out of the AZ and CA Senate endorsements.

She might have been able to do that with the California race, but she had no choice but to give McCain her endorsement when he asked for it. Had she failed to do so, it would have forever marked her as a backstabbing, betrayer.
