Red Light Cameras (Crist hold car owners accountable, but not public school teachers)

Beginning July 1st, red light cameras could soon be popping up all over the state. Governor Charlie Crist signed the "Mark Wandall Traffic Safety Act" into legislation late yesterday. Wandall was 30-years-old when a red light runner killed him on October 24, 2003. But some people are having a hard time believing the new law is strictly a matter of driver safety.

So ALL ACROSS the state of Florida, car owners face a potential fine of $160 if a camera "sees" their car going through a red light. Of course, it is the CAR OWNER who is fined, not the DRIVER.

Seems a bit unfair.

Also, anyone see the irony: suntan Charlie, the weasel who is also a chameleon, DOESN'T WANT TO HOLD PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS ACCOUNTABLE, so he bent like a good boy to the demands of their loudmouth unions....but he endorses punishing people who may not have committed an infraction by the use of "big brother" cameras?

I am glad this PUNK left the Republican party. He sure doesn't deserve to be a U.S. Senator. He's a moron.

Like the Democrat that Crist really is, it looks like he is doing all he can to face certain defeat in November.

I’ll make a note of it, if I go to Florida I’ll remember not to drive once I get there.

Out of staters are in no position to defend against these tickets, and won’t get them very promptly anyhow as they would be sent to Alamo.

First clue is the digital camera makes a cash register sound instead of a camera click sound.

Sounds linked from list on http://www.wyomingwebdesign.com/files/pages/free_sound_files.html

I'm cool with that, as long as the governor is fined for any vehicle owned by the state.

Government licensed vehicles will , quite mysteriously , not be fined ... that’s the case now.

In California nearly all government workers abuse laws designed to protect undercover drug operatives and have their plate info hidden (computer-wise) so they can drive through cameras with impunity.
