Or yesterday's here in Arizona - : )
True. If it had not been for GWB, Specter would be in retirement today.
“No good reason judges, legislators,or elected officials should be able to hold office past the ages many are forced to retire in other fields.”
In many cases this is true. We’ve seen Specter, Robert Byrd, Strom Thurmond and others hanging on long after their mental and physical condition has deteriorated to the point where they cannot be effective in representing the people. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is another example. John McCain may be an example.
I find the mainstream media’s infatuation with Senator Bennett of Utah losing his bid to be the Republican nominee from Utah. No one has commented on his age — 76. He would be 82 at the end of his next term had he been the nominee and elected. Perhaps some of those who voted against him decided he was out of touch and would not be mentally sharp enough to perform his duties.
As a resident of PA. I worked for Toomey in his losing bid to upset Specter and was disappointed that Bush and Santorum both stumped for the arrogant Specter. I hope the video proof of Specter saying he switched parties to win the election will seal his fate at being booted out by a fed-up populace.
I hope the old weasel wins the nomination. Then the gloves come off.
