How dare you tell me not to post the Sanity Island threads. Who do you think you are?

Show me proof that she spoke a lot as First Lady. She talked to the press less than her mother in law and never acted out like those Clinton and Obama women.

She doesn’t work for us - never did, although she had unpaid responsibilities that she did with grace and discretion - and her husband doesn’t work for us any more.

The Bush family = the family that killed Reagan conservatism in America. “Thousand points of light,” “New World Order,” “Compassionate Conservatism”; all of these abominations were the product of the Bushes. I am somewhat guilty myself, as I voted for him twice. I will never again “settle” for a candidate. It’s real conservative or nothing, and that EXCLUDES all Bush family members. To (kind of) paraphrase Davy Crockett; “They can all go to hell - I’ll go home and clean my guns.”

I do hope she doesn’t “help” President Bush pick out the library design. That crap in Little Rock is awful. I can imagine what she has in mind.

Laura has been school system all her life and even if they do not agree they have to say it in public so as to not make teacher union mad. What I want to know if where are the elected official who tell it like it is? No wonder our country is in such a mess. We do not know where any of them stands and that is shame for all US Citizens. Wonder how they answer when the face God? They will not be able ride the fence with God. We need more people like Az. Gov. and NJ Gov. serving this country. And let chip fall where they if it call speaking the TRUTH!

Sorry, Bush is only one voice. The presidency is a loud voice, but not so loud with a GOP president.

A GOP president has to be defended or they leave office in distain as G.W. Bush, G.H.W. Bush and Reagan ALL did. Time of course heals this some, but that cuts both ways.

In time some new GOP president, maybe Palin, will be savaged by the press and purists here will be saying why can’t they be a real conservative ala Reagan and G.W. Bush. The GOP members of the chattering class will not stand up for that GOP president either as all their friends inside the beltway demand that to be taken seriously they trash the current GOP president. After a short time past GOP presidents are honored, but a current one is always trashed and clearly from this board we can see part of why it is possible.

Unlike many women, Laura Bush deferred to her husband in setting policy. As you know, George Bush was the most pro-life president we have ever had. He also stood up for the sanctity of marriage.

Mrs. Bush confined herself to promoting the rights of Afghan women, working for literacy, and representing this nation with dignity.

Her opinions are her own, as were those of Dick Cheney, who is assumed to have supported gay marriage rights. Are you going to call him a fraud as well?

Perhaps it’s hard for you to understand, but many women do not agree 100% with their husbands. It’s not hard for me to understand why you don’t like Sanity Island.

Well, that’s just the outside of enough. Now you think she’s a murderer.

I am sorry I answered a ping to this thread. There are some very unpleasant and irrational people here.

There is a lot coming together now, and some long unanswered questions being addressed.

I never wanted to believe that George W. Bush dismissed the Constitution as a G.D. piece of paper but I now believe he might have.

How many "republican leaders" are there who do not hold our Constitution as nearly sacred?

How many "republican leaders" see the Constitution as just a scrap of paper?

How many "republican leaders" see the Constitution as an impediment to their goals?

It is past time to find out!

Kaslin, with Babbah’s death, I just can’t deal with these people today. Maybe they know we are all upset, so they come on the site to get their digs in.

I need to leave for the afternoon. I won’t return to this thread.

Yep, just as I thought. You must be proud of giving us Obama. Congratulations.

Very well said. The poster probably is also the reason why the Rats are in the majority

Wouldn’t it be easier for you to ignore Sanity Island than censor it? Some of us like it and President Bush, even if he was part of the Iluminati.

Pray for AMerica

The poster was likely a contributor to giving us Obama. Not “the” reason by any means.

Well now I’m wondering if the male Bushes were really pro-life or just politically expedient, after all they both knew there was no way they could get elected as President being a pro-choicer.

Tellyawhat, I often defended W tooth and nail, even when I couldn't figure out what he was doing and why. Now, it is time to put aside blind loyalty, start putting the puzzle together, and seeking truth!

Take your BDS comments and stick them where the Sun don't shine!

There are too many reasons for doubt, too many unanswered questions.

I've been a faithful registered Republican since 1963. Maybe I was just a poor damned fool all those years, and I'll admit it, if I was.

Now, I want answers, no more blind faith!
