Inslee Rips Into Skeptic at Climategate Hearing (And Monckton slaps them back HARD)

Congressman Jay Inslee (D-Bainbridge Island) is a well-known champion of green causes in Congress. Inslee has expressed interest in running for Governor in 2012 (or before), and is seen by many on the enviro-left as a cool operator.

However, at a recent hearing to investigate the foundations of climate science, a Republican challenging Inslee for his Congressional seat says the green hero was less than courteous to an invited expert (and global warming skeptic), Lord Christopher Monckton.

To this observer, Inslee’s tone was not only condescending, but borderline angry.

Monckton OWNED the scientists. Has for years. I’d put him up against anybody. He is the REAL scientists best spokesman, period. There is a reason why he was there. And he stated exactly why.

“Yet Al Gore is the leader of the Chicken Little scientists. They never criticize his “science”, instead they give him a Nobel.”

No scientist uses Al Gore as a source for information. He is a spokesman and mouthpiece spreading the message to the uninformed public. Al Gore won the Nobel Peace prize, not an award for his scientific accomplishments.

I confronted Mr. Inslee when he was running for re-election in 1994 (republican take-over) in Richland and the big issue then was the assault weapons ban. I asked to explain to me why owning one of my shotguns (870 remington) that I had purchased legally 15 year before was now going to make me a felon if I changed the stock to a pistol grip.

He could never answer the question but got his just rewards for that vote in November then scampered his butt back to the Bainbridge Island where he was really from in the first place. His whole ruse that he was an eastern Washington farmer was as phony then as his thinking he’s got a shot at being the next governor...

Perhaps. This is a political fight but it is being fought using science as the weapon. When they bring a scientist to testify we have to have a better one to counter him. Like in a trial when the prosecuter brings in an “expert” on DNA evidence, you cant bring in a HS science teacher to refute him.

But to the lunatic left there is no one who is a better "scientist" than theirs. The left has reduced SCIENCE to science that is determined by majority vote. They say we have 3,000 "scientists" who agree there IS Globull Warming--you only have 2,500 who say there isn't Globull Warming--so we win!"

He makes me embarrassed to be an American.

He's running against James Watkins. Donations can be made here.

the only reason I paid any attention to his writings and comments in the beginning is because he was science advisor to Margaret Thatcher. One of the first complaints I remember from him was about global warming scientists’ lack of transparency and information about actual data.

Lord Moncton was science advisor to Margaret Thatcher’s government.

He has published extensively. By the way, Science is a structured methodology independent of subject area. There is NO science in statistics! All of the claims of the AGW are based on statistical manipulations.

Inslee is an embarrassment even by the standards of Congress.
