Former First Lady Laura Bush has come out against the Arizona immigration law, pointing to the discrimination that her own Irish ancestors, named Welch, faced in their time.
In an interview with Fox News, Bush said the new law merely showed an upsurge in prejudice similar to what her Irish ancestors faced.

She was a classy 1st Lady but she just may have been the power behind the throne of GWB’s liberalism. She is pro-choice, pro gay marriage and pro illegal immigration and probably a closet Democrat.

I'm safely in Georgia and had plans to go to the book signing in Atlanta on Wednesday at B/N, but we canceled those plans and am glad we did since this NEW information on Laura's thinking that the AZ Law is wrong...she is wrong and will soon learn of the supporters she has lost...

Laura Bush is a real disappointment.
The my ancestors were “X” is a BS excuse. The discrimination was for origin NOT illegal entry. In early days of this nation there were no borders or quotas just in or out and BARELY a refusal process for certain diseases.

My Irish Ancestor came over on a “Coffin Ship” in Steerage.
He landed in Boston.
He joined the Army.
He Fought in the War Between The States and was Wounded in the battle of Bull Run.
He managed to find his way Home, obtained his Citizenship and Joined the Massachusetts National Guard.
He was injured again fighting The Great Boston Fire which took out Most of the West End of Boston.
He died of old age and good Irish Whiskey and is buried in Old Calvary Cemetery in Roslindale MA.
He would have approved of the Arizona Law.
Laura, You were a lovely First Lady, and I prayed for you daily, but you disappoint me now.
