Activists outraged at comments made by Lakers Coach Phil Jackson that seem to back Arizonas controversial new immigration law plan to rally outside Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles before Mondays playoff opener against the Phoenix Suns.
The way we look at it, Phil Jackson is supporting the Arizona law, said Mario Gonzalez, a longtime Lakers fan and rally organizer. Thats surprising. It caught us off guard. We want to find out where the team stands on the law.
John Black, the Lakers' vice president for public relations, did not respond to telephone messages seeking comment.
Sparking the furor are remarks made by Jackson to ESPN.com columnist J.A. Adande in which the Lakers coach seems to back the incendiary Arizona law, which allows local police to check citizens documents and arrest them if they don't have them.
Am I crazy, or am I the only one that heard [the legislature] say, We just took the United States immigration law and adopted it to our state? Jackson said of the Arizona statute.

There were more reporters covering the protest than protesters.
Um, since when does a sports team have official political opinions, and since when do they matter?
The insanity continues while 70 percent of the population look on in disbelief that there would be such outrage at actually enforcing federal immigration laws. What the amnestyphiles don’t understand is that keeping the AZ law in the forefront of the news and behaving so incredibly stupid over it does not help the amnesty movement at all.
When large numbers of people get away with breaking the law for an extended period of time they come to believe it is their right. That they are entitled to break the law without consequence.
Major political earthquake coming...
Good! Go suck on a lemon Gonzalez!

Looks like Phil Jackson has a heck of a lot more sense than the retards that run “Los Suns”.
Meanwhile...
Final Scores of the just ended playoff match:
Lakers : 128
Los Suns : 107
Looks like Los Suns” will soon become “Buh Bye" Suns.
These fan(atics) would really be pissed if Phil Jackson said he was against the bill and refused to play Phoenix - forfeited.
Jackson handled this well.
ROFL
Jackson is 46-0 in playoff series where his team wins game 1.
where s/b when
It’s actually kind of funny how much face time the MSM is giving three whiners and their sign, protesting Phil Jackson.

Wow! I could care less about basketball but Phil sounds smarter than most politicians.

Wow. He nails it perfectly.
