In Trenton, Issuing IDs for Illegal Immigrants

Since moving to this city from her native Guatemala a decade ago, Herlinda, an illegal immigrant, has supported her family with restaurant work, but has had no way of proving that she lives here.

Without government-issued photo identification, like a driver’s license or a passport, she said, she could not get treatment at most medical clinics, borrow a book from the library, pick up a package from a mail center or cash a check.

But this month she discovered a solution: a community identification card issued by a coalition of civic groups and endorsed by Trenton and Mercer County officials.

“When you don’t have a proper ID, they can humiliate you,” said Herlinda, 43, as she waited in the offices of a church where the cards were being issued. “I feel I belong in Trenton.”

Some other communities waited to see if there were legal challenges to the New Haven program, but none surfaced. Opponents of the program filed an open records request seeking the participants’ names and addresses. The city’s refusal was upheld by the Connecticut Freedom of Information Commission, said Michael J. Wishnie, a Yale law professor who helped develop the program and was retained by the city to help defend it in the event of lawsuits.

You humiliate yourself when you come hear and use forged documents, commit identity theft and lie about who you are to get a job.

You humiliate yourself when you enroll you children in a public school knowing that you and your family have done little or nothing to contribute to the funding of that school.

You humiliate yourself when you go to a hospital emergency room to get care that you know that you can not pay for knowing that others will pay for your care.

You humiliate yourself by taking advantage of foolish generosity of a country that was once great but is being brought low by bleeding heart Liberals who hate their own country.

With the current crop of communists in power, they will do all they can to ensure they vote in November.

I’ve said since Feb. of last year that Amnesty is the ace up their sleeve that is the source of their putrid condescension when they shove their communist legislation and dictates down our throats.

I doubt they even need voter fraud or amnesty to benefit electorally from the illegals...pretty sure they're counted in the census for apportionment purposes. Lots of illegals=more congressional seats.
