Bill Maher criticized Obama's "fuddy-duddy act" at a commencement address at Hampton College last week and argued that Steve Jobs could do a better job running America than the Obama administration. In the graduation speech, Obama slammed iPads, iPods, Xboxes, and PlayStations as a "distraction," saying the devices "turned information into a diversion that was imposing new strains on democracy."

Maher pointed out that the President's address seemed specious considering how heavily the "hip" Obama relied on social media and the Internet in his campaign.

"I know I'm being a little nit-picky, but how exactly does President Sanford and son think he got elected--by CB radio?" Maher said. "The entire campaign was based on the Internet, but in America, politicians they do that because they know Americans conflate 'out of touch' with adorable."

Maher's solution for pushing the country forward: bring in Apple. "America needs to focus on getting Jobs -- Steve Jobs. Because something tells me that Apple would have come up with a better idea for stopping an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico than putting a giant box on top of it," he said.

He explained why he thought Jobs and his Apple team could do a better job running America, joking that we might have to change the country's name (Hello, "iMerica."):

I imagine the frenzy if Rush called him P. Sanford and Son. If Obama is a part of Sanford and Son, he’s Lamont because he’s a big dummy.

This is offensive. Sanford & Son was entertaining.

Wonder if Obama is thinking ‘if I’ve lost Bill Maher, I’ve lost the country’.....

For once, I agree with Maher. Jobs would certainly have run the country vastly better than 0bozo and his minions have done so far.

Wow - would that not be considered a racist comment had it come from someone on the other side?

While funny, and accurate, Maher misses the point (shocking I know). Obamarx is upset about all this technology not because he doesn’t know how to use it. It’s because it is being used to shine light on his radical Marxist agenda. He doesn’t like it because he can’t control it and it inhibits his “hope and change”. That is also why he wants to control it (Net Neutrality, Fairness Act, etc.)

But I thought Obama’s lack of executive experiences didn’t mean a thing because of his good judgment to oppose the Iraq war in a heavily liberal district? I thought that made him brilliant. It did in 2008 anyway. NOW Bill Maher apparently wants someone with executive experience.

Maher is off base and wrong in comparing Obama to Sanford and Son. Fred and Lamont are actually small business men who make their own way and struggle with the daily plague that is Los Angeles.

Fred and Lamont are admirable. Barack is despicable. Those similar to Barack, read that as the black congresswoman who should make all public appearances with a bag over her head, have destroyed LA.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

I suppose that it all depends on whose ox is being gored. Maher was firmly in BO's corner, until BO started hitting him where he hurt.

Pass the popcorn.
