President Obama today signed into law The Daniel Pearl Freedom of Press Act, which expands efforts to identify countries that dont share our love for the First Amendment. He also took time to honor the man the bill is named after, journalist Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and beheaded by Islamic extremists in 2002 in what the President with nary a teleprompter in sight called a moment that captured the worlds imagination. The Obama administration has pushed to have Pearls professed killer, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, tried in civilian court.

The list, ping
So where’s the “Projectile Barf Alert” on this one?
There really are no better words than Charlie’s there.
There was no imagination to it. It was HORRIFIC.
.
This can’t be right — he didn’t really say “Captured the world’s imagination” did he?
That wouldn’t make any sense!
Surely, he did not say that. Just when I thought I couldn’t be any more dumfounded.
It captured the world’s imagination because the press refused to air the clip of the horrors of Islamonazism. The audience had to “think” of what happened themselves.
Beheadings do not capture one’s imagination, they horrify.
For something like that to capture your imagination, you’d have to be a bloodthirsty jihadist....
He’s speaking code to his islamist allies yet again
Hmmm...
Good heavens. Let this guy speak without a teleprompter, and he’s less lucid than a babbling idiot.
I really need this clown show to be gone,
Imagination? ...wasn’t there video ? ...then off camera you could hear everything.
Very dubious choice of words. A most inappropriate tone.
Almost admiring.....Neil Armstrong captured the imagination of the world, but L’Affaire Pearl?
Captured the worlds imagination? Does that seem odd to you, that statement?
Freudian slip...
I wonder if he watched it as a snuff flick...
It’s the glory of allah-only a muzzie would understand.
The world of jihadists, perhaps. Is he including himself?
“Captured the imagination?” This was not a sporting event - this was the cold blooded, sadistic murder of an innocent human being.
There was nothing left to the “imagination”............................
You said it. Where’s the sheep hook?
Horrified the world maybe not ‘captured my imagination’
What a complete and utter idiot this guy is.
The enormity of his audacity captures my imagination . . . and I find myself acting stupidly.
IN-A-PRO-PRI-ATE..... What was Barry thinking...”Cool! His head’s lopped off!”?????? That was the most un-Presidential thing Mr Soetoro has said to date.
O is a moron!
I think you just nailed it. Obama just revealed to the world the type of thing that captures HIS imagination. Sick is far too mild a word.
I’d really like to see this ignorant idiot’s transcripts.
What a sick, twisted piece of filth Obama is.
Yeah ZERO it was a real knee slapper. *%%^#%&$%# idiot
There's something odd about that, above and beyond being ill considered, awkward and completely lacking in empathy. It sounds rather like an advertising slogan for Disney or something.
I wonder how that translates into, oh, I don't know ... Arabic?
القبض على خيال العالم
Hmmm. And back to English:
Captured the imagination of the world.
Nothing. Still, it's just weird.
That is an extremely odd and interesting choice of words. I’m not sure yet what to make of it.
Yeah, they’re going to make it into a ride at Frontierland, Mr. President. If Bush had said this, we’d be hearing about it for years.
Yes he is right it did capture the world’s imagination. Jew-haters and Muzzies had their imaginaion captured as they watched their medieval tactics cripple the world.
Where did this jerk get his education? He's been watching toooo many TV sit com’s.
I’m surprised this isn’t something the MSM hopes everyone forgets. Daniel Pearl’s “fighter cap” was the understanding that if you kill a reporter, your side wont ever get or be able to buy positive press in any media outlet at any price. The bad guys found out that in the media leftism trumps all and they can get away with whatever they want.
Captured our imagination... like the moon landing or something like that, right?
Oh, brother. Is there any wonder why this guy is wholly and utterly dependent on a TelePromTer?? To me, this yet again demonstrates what an odd duck Obama is and that he really doesn't understand American culture. Obama is the sum of many various parts he assembled during his childhood.
yes, I think it was code as well. It was tacit approval or at the least apathy.
Star Wars captures the imagination.
What those MUSLIM barbarians did it beyond any human imagination.
I’m starting to think you have to FAIL an intelligence test to get into Harvard.
I know it. I can’t believe that a Harvard grad can’t string a sentence together unless it’s written down and projected in letters 2 feet high.
Unbelievable. Anybody who could describe a beheading as ‘capturing the world’s imagination’ has to have their sanity questioned.
The fact that the President of the United States said it simply defies belief.
Sure comes off like it. Virtually the worst adjective that could have been used to describe the Daniel Pearl murder by islamic jihadists.
What the F does that mean????
How could this be allowed to happen to Barack? Where was TOTUS?
It may well have “captured the world’s imagination”—in the Muslim world...
What an idiot he is. I can’t stand the man. Without a teleprompter is right! It would have said “captured the ATTENTION” of the world. What a duncehead.
Maybe he did intend to say “imagination.” After all, imagination implies that something is not real. He would like to believe that and promote that thought concerning his muslim friends.
mentally ill...PERIOD
