Drive up 127 and there are miles and miles of new growth jackpines from fires in the fairly recent past.

Pretty sparsely populated up there. Only some 14,000 people in the county.

YIKES!!!! It has been very dry here. We’ve had maybe 2 days of good rain since the last time it snowed. Maybe 2 months. Other than that, just a few days of sprinkles and maybe a light shower.

Yes that area is very sparsely populated. There isn’t much from past Grayling, Gaylord on up. Till you get to Marquette.
Small town at the bridge and that’s about it.

Beautiful country in any case and it will be again pretty quickly when things start growing again.

I didn’t realize it had been that dry up that way. April was a bit dry here in the south but we’ve gotten several inches of rain in May.

It hasn’t rained since this past saturday/sunday and there is no rain predicted until tuesday. I can’t tell you how often they’ve predicted rain and all we got was clouds our sprinkles.

I spent a week near Lewiston about two years ago and it rained every day but was dry down this way.

Where I live, it’ll be cloudy but, rain below us. I sure hope we get normal amount of rain this year. We less snow then we normally have too. And I am smelling smoke this morning off and on. I smelled something when I first got up but, wasn’t sure what I was smelling. If there is a fire around here I don’t see it. I live on a hill in the country, I can see Lake Superior from the side of the house and all around my house there are no trees close so I have a pretty open view, except for the front of the house. I don’t see any smoke. But, I sure smell something.
