I fervently hope that Rand didn’t get his dad’s mental illness.

The Fox Special Report panel was talking about Paul’s comments on the Civil Rights Act, and how he suggested that he agreed with it as it applied to government but disapproved of restrictions on private enterprise. The Fox panel was all huffy about this. Paul’s comments make sense to me, but are a lot of people offended by this? And what difference does it make? No one’s going to try to repeal the Civil Rights Act.

Republicans are getting good at knocking other republicans.

These pols ought to shut up.

Today ole Newt said after PA loss he doesn’t think we can take back congress.

How helpful.

Were we watching the same panel?

Kristol said it was no big deal. Mara is Mara and I have no clue as to what she was jabbering about but it didn’t seem huffy at all.

The only one huffy was Kraut, kind of sort of.

Going on Maddow was a mistake. Not a huge, campaign-imploding mistake, but one where a candidate who is not part of the political establishment is prone to make.

Rand is very pro life........ though he's a little nerdy looking.

One advantage is his gorgeous blonde wife.....she looks like a supermodel.

ON VIDEO http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8688383.stm

Kelley Ashby was a Rhodes College English major. Paul and Ashby were married in 1991, and moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky, less than 30 miles from her hometown of Russellville, Kentucky, in 1993.

Kelley Paul is a freelance writer, and she manages payroll and marketing communications for Paul's surgical practice. The couple have three sons: William, Duncan, and Robert.

Contrary to widespread speculation, Paul was not named after Ayn Rand, according to Paul himself.

That PA race is being way over analyzed.

Mara and Charles were the ones who seemed to think it was a big deal. You're right - Mara is Mara - but I think Charles is an establishment guy who disapproves of Paul on principle.

This is another good example of Sarah Palin’s advice. She said we don’t need to move left to attract the moderates. Let them come to us. Those brave enough to ignore the political consultants are finding out she is right.

I've been outside all day, and just heard about this “flap” on Shemp Smith's 7 o'clock report. From what I heard, the Louisville lib paper had been sitting on some Paul's comments made last year. This smacks of “circle the wagons” lib desperation based upon these polls...

One really wonderful result that would occur if Rand Paul won the senate is not having to look at all those damn pictures of shrimp every time someone mentions their name.

I have noticed the attempt by the media to slam him for his statements regard Civil Rights legislation (legacy legislation no less). The media KNOWS they need to take down this guy. I smell a litle fear....I like!

Seems we heard all of this in 2007 and 2008 about how his Dad was out in front and winning every poll.

From Rasmussen’s page, “This statewide telephone survey of 500 Likely Voters in Kentucky was conducted on May 19, 2010 by Rasmussen Reports.”

You know what bothers me? I’m just a little layperson, but as a conservative, I would never agree to an interview on MSNBC, much less with Maddow. The level of naivety is stunning.

I think it is manufactured contraversy. No one really believes Paul would repeal the civil rights act and those who suggest it is so or feed the mock liberal outraged should be ashamed. There are a lot of things in the act that were not within the scope of the federal government to regulate and it set the path for the identity politics rot that is being used to strip away our rights to choose with whom and what behaviors we will associate with. Rand should just stop responding to this and just leave it and call it a ridiculous attack which is what it is.
