HOUSTON - A criminal alien, who had been previously deported to Mexico in 2008, was sentenced in federal court on Friday to eight years in prison for illegally re-entering the United States. This sentence resulted from an investigation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Gerardo Izaguirre-Rea, 36, was sentenced May 14 in the Southern District of Texas to 96 months in federal prison for illegally re-entering the United States after having been previously deported as an aggravated felon. He could have received up to 20 years in prison for this conviction. ICE will deport Izaguirre-Rea to Mexico after he completes his prison sentence.
Izaguirre-Rea has three prior deportations. He has convictions for various crimes, including: theft, burglary with intent to commit other felony, drunken driving, bodily injury to a child, and previously re-entering the United States after deportation. He was last deported in June 2008.
According to court documents, Izaguirre-Rea was arrested on Nov. 17, 2009, by the Harris County Sheriff's Office in Houston, Texas, for assault with bodily injury, and criminal mischief. While being administratively processed by 287(g) officers and agents, Izaguirre-Rea's previous criminal history was revealed.
"This significant prison sentence shows the consequences aliens face when they illegally re-enter the country after being deported," said Kenneth Landgrebe, field office director for ICE Detention and Removal Operations in Houston. "This prosecution reflects the cooperation and commitment to secure our communities among ICE, the Harris County Sheriff Office, the Harris County District Attorney, and the U.S. Attorney's Office."
Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Donnelly, Southern District of Texas, prosecuted this case.

This criminal should be shipped back to Mexico with a brand on his cheek. Why saddle us with his incarceration, medical bills, and perpetualappeals by an immigration lawyer?
“This significant prison sentence shows the consequences aliens face when they illegally re-enter the country after being deported,........”
This only shows the POTENTIAL consequence.... I expect this is the very rare, exceptional case. Too often they are taken to the border and dropped off, back in 24 hours or less.
The POS had to commit yet another crime before he was arrested and jailed. He wasn't arrested merely for illegal re-entry after being deported. If he had stayed away from carrying out even more crimes, he'd still be enjoying life eight here in this country again.
Just secure the bloody border!
Chemical castration and deportation for a 1st offense and permanent castration and deportation for a second offense should put the fear of the border in them.
Three square meals a day, a bed, a hot shower, cable TV and all the play time he wants, and pro-bono legal work, all care of the American taxpayer. Who was punished here?!?!

A convicted felon who was deported to Mexico in 2007 has been arrested for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl in Santa Ana, police said Tuesday night. Roberto Jacobo Reyes, 47, was being held without bail on suspicion of assaulting the girl after he entered her home through a window, the Santa Ana Police Department said. Reyes was linked to the Feb. 11 attack by DNA evidence found on the window and on the girl, Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said. During questioning, Reyes allegedly told detectives that he had assaulted at least four other females, ages 11 to 22, while they slept, according to Bertagna. "His M.O. was to break into unsecured windows or unsecured doors," Bertagna said of the crimes, which began in late 2009. (Excerpt) Read more at latimesblogs.latimes.com ...
Next time, release him in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco, with the address fo Gavin Newsome’s new squeeze. I know that sounds harsh, but Gavin proclaimed his city a city of refuge for illegals
Drop him off in the desert, and drive away. Give the known victims of his crimes advance notice of when and where.
Take a look at this FBI Wanted for Murder List to see how wonderful diversity is !!!
About 90% Hispanic, for those who don’t wish to count (or see all their ugly mugs)
Meanwhile, Obama's illegal alien "auntie" continues to roam freely in Boston while collecting taxpayer dollars.
Makes perfect sense to me.
Is there an extra seat on Calderon’s jet ?
If amensty is passed while he’s in prison, he gets free citizenship.
