Top Official Says Feds May Not Process Illegals Referred From Arizona

A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.

John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports. "I don't think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution," Morton told the newspaper. The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws. The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not "good government," Morton said.

“” This is insanity. Our federal government is declaring war on the citizens.”

We have a President who has sided with a foreign government(Mexico) and AGAINST the United States.
And this during a time of war.

Now ICE refuses to enforce Federal law, and Arizona state law.”

CBP Officers Nab Homicide Suspect during Southbound Operations

(Tuesday, May 18, 2010)

contacts for this news release

San Diego - An illegal alien with an active felony warrant for murder was caught attempting to flee the country on Monday afternoon during a law enforcement operation by Customs and Border Protection.

At about 11:40 a.m., during southbound checks on Interstate 5 at the San Ysidro port of entry, CBP officers from the Office of Field Operations stopped four male occupants in a Honda Civic. Officers determined that two of the individuals were illegal aliens from Mexico, and were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.

Record checks conducted by the Border Patrol revealed that one subject, Francisco Rodriguez-Adame, a 24-year-old, had an outstanding warrant for murder issued by the San Jose Police Department. San Jose Police detectives took him into custody. The detectives also were interested in the other man, a 20-year-old with a criminal history. He was questioned but later returned to Border Patrol custody for removal proceedings.

CBP officers at California’s six ports of entry on the Mexican border have arrested 979 individuals with outstanding felony warrants either entering or leaving the U.S. during fiscal year 2010 through April. The current fiscal year started on October 1, 2009.[snip]

Arizona should sue the feds for discrimination.

Sheriff Joe will house them in hot tents and feed them green lunch meat. They'll be begging for the Feds to deport them.

That’s why I still think of it as the INS. It’s the same ole s-—, under a different name.

Those who have relatives serving in ICE or the other branch must realize I feel sorry for them. They don’t get federal support. My comments should not be seen as a condemnation of the people who try to do a good job, and are undermined constantly by the feds.

I respect our border agents.

That’s pretty easy. Tax the export of electricity to California and insist on an upfront payment to be adjusted monthly on settlement of accounts.

Remember when the Dim presidential strategy was to carve, Az, Co, NM and UT out of the states Bush won. Sounds to me like they have given up on every winning Az at least.

Put them in a big pen out in the desert

I've seen several jails in Mexico, and they are big pens in the desert.

Four tall walls with gun towers atop each corner, a small outside administration building, a few outside trees indicating the presence of water, and nothing but light poles visible over the walls.

Mexican prisons are inexpensive hellholes ...

God bless you, patriot.

I used to work in Northern California for a software company that employed a lot of Asian Indians. While they struggled constantly with INS losing their paperwork, having to start all over again, they had to look out the window and see the grass being mowed by groups of illegals who couldn’t care less about being here legally, just give me my greenbacks to send back to Latin America.

It was disgusting to witness.

Meanwhile, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said ICE is not obligated to process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.
FILTHY TRAITOROUS BITCH!!!!!!!”

She sure is......

No one should be more informed about the problems with the southern border of Arizona that Janet Nappy...

She is a total disgrace. When the revolution comes—& it WILL—I want her strung up & hanged in a public location.

Maybe Arizona need a law giving law enforcement the same rights as ICE agents to drive them back to the border themselves..

I have my own issues against Sheriff Arpaio.

If state legislators are serious about this they are gonna have to figure out how much money its gonna cost them.

In Jan of this year the state legislature cut 130 juvenile beds from Juvenile Corr and only under extreme pressure decided to extend agency funding for one more year and then the elimination of the agency.

55 percent of juveniles adjudicated to the State come from Maricopa County.

If Juvenile Corrections is eliminated Maricopa County will have to raise taxes to house the juveniles that might fall under this.

So much for the Supremacy Clause.

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
