Top Official Says Feds May Not Process Illegals Referred From Arizona

A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.

John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports. "I don't think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution," Morton told the newspaper. The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws. The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not "good government," Morton said.

Maybe Arizona could take them to the border and “launch” them about three miles back over the border with a catapult.

If the democrats want to run on that record I say great.

I would extract a promise, sworn in blood, from every single republican challenger to reverse each and every one of their damn policies the instant they take office.

Any one who refuses suffers the same political fate.

Well then he needs to resign his position or be fired because the FEDERAL law he is sworn to uphold is a "law like it".

This is insanity. Our federal government is declaring war on the citizens.

I'm ready to return the favor.

This is a word for word quote? Am I living in a parallel universe?! The state law implements the federal and yes, dirbag, I think people here illegally have committed a crime!

When you think the mess can’t get any worse...and yet it does...this is mind boggling. WHERE are the FED’s when it comes to protecting the borders?

Not much change here.

The Feds "processing" of illegals means basically giving them a meal, taking their fingerprints, and sending them back to Mexico on a Wackenhut bus.

I know as I live just a few miles from the border.

The government is in near open rebellion with the governed.

The people are gonna have to make some hard choices and very soon.

>It’s time to shut down the ICE fiasco and save thetaxpayers a lot of money.<

It wqs time thirty five years ago to shut down the subversive Federal programs. Apparently Congress was already taken over. They’ve been operating under a false hood ever since.

Begin impeachment proceedings. The administration is not allowed to ignore the law of the land. The AZ law is simply a restatement of the federal law; and ICE has one job, one reason to exist. Ignoring or refusing to do their duty is dereliction, malfeasance of office. The dereliction of ICE is simply symptomatic of the dereliction of the walking human defect, brocko himself.

Take them, drive them deep into Mexico, dump them, and tell them if they want to come back, to go to California where they will be welcomed with open arms. Just stay out of AZ.
