Rand Paul cancels Meet the Press appearance
Washington Post ^ | David Weigel

Kentucky U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul tells me it has canceled the candidate's upcoming appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" -- something the show's host and producer are currently sounding the alarm about on Twitter.

For all of you who were saying "why the hell did he go on Madcow's show?" here ya go. The MSM was trying to set up another ambush and he told them where to go. And frankly, it's about damn time a Republican did.

He’s playing offense with Obama and BP and rightly so.

The MSM will take the molehill of ‘he’s a racist’ and attempt to create a mountain. Anything to distract from the ineptitude of their Scarecrow In Chief.

Indeed. There is no downside for our side dissing the state run media.

Good. Because they will try and destroy him between now and November. But they can do that on their own too, so he needs to be on the offensive.

Just remember, if Paul is smart, he’s what he’ll say:

“well, it seems it’s ok for Obama to tell you guys and gals (MSM) to go screw yourselves, too”, and I’m not apparently as important as him...I’m just following what the leader does”

Paul certainly can represent Kentucky without having to go on any of those shows. It’s not like he needs that type of exposure; this is a good decision.

LOL

Let's really make the MSM blow a fuse:
Set-up a Rand Paul fundraiser with Sarah Palin.

I predict no less than four known names in the MSM having a stroke and dieing.

The newsmedia is kept alive by people watching TV and paying for cable and sat TV.

People would rather be serfs than drop TV and yes TV does have that much power.

Jesse Helms was known for refusing to speak with national media. He would grant interviews only to local N. Carolina press.

There is no reason that a candidate for office in KY should be hitting the national media unless they’re (a) media whore or (b) looking to run for president
