"Mexican President Felipe Calderon called on Congress on Thursday to reinstate a federal ban on assault weapons," writes Kara Rowland of The Washington Times.
"Mexican President Felipe Calderon implored a joint session of Congress on Thursday to ban assault weapons," echoes Peter Nicholas of The Los Angeles Times.
"Calderon urges U.S. to reinstate assault weapons ban," parrots Reuters.
"Obama administration should heed Mexico's call to crack down on guns," cheerleads a Washington Post editorial. Naturally.
"I am in full agreement with President Calderón," writes Carolyn "Shoulder Thing That Goes Up" McCarthy on her official website, "and I will continue to call on all Americans to demand the passage of common sense gun safety legislation after the 2004 expiration of the Assault Weapons Ban."
Thank you, Señor Presidente. I can think of no greater motivator for galvanizing outrage on the part of American gun owners than to have some foreign ruler, particularly one of such a corrupt and violent society, openly calling for gutting our most cherished rights. Especially when we can see first-hand the type of misery your monopoly on violence has produced.

Which foreign ruler? The Mexican or Indonesian-Kenyan?
I don’t think it was a very good move for Barry to drag out his Senor Wences routine right now. LOL! Kids!
Two words...... Eighty million.
Drug Gangs are shooting people who can't legally arm themselves for their personal defense.
Makes sense to me. /s
Mr. Corea’s right: if by doing what Mr. Calderrrrrone suggests, we can become like Mexico - that’s all the counter-argument gun-owners will need!
Outstanding Post!
Thank You!
Calderon is part of the global cabal, right in there with the Obama gang. all of this, every word said, was planned in advance.
Thank you and you’re welcome.

Gun ownership in Texas is a universal phenomena. In fact, there are more gun owners in Texas than any other state in the Union. It is estimated that Texans own around 51 million firearms. That's more firearms than owned by the 300 million people that make up the 15 nations of the European Union. In fact, America is the number one gun-owning nation in the world. But Texans possess nearly 20% of all the guns in America. (The U.S. gun count is estimated around 240 million).
Now you do the math. With about 24 million Texans living in the Lone Star State, the average person, including every man, woman and child, owns a little over two guns each. (Hey, maybe that's where the popular saying comes from, you know, "Don't Mess With Texas"!)
I was referring to gun OWNERS, not guns. I have over 40 myself.
.... and I LOVE Texas. Wish I could move back. Am looking at it, in fact.

The gun sellers of American couldn’t have gotten a better advertisement than they got from Calderon. I imagine when the statistics come out, so called “assault” weapons sales will have soared after Calderon put the ban back on the political front burner.
If the Dems go after guns as they did in 1994, they have stepped on the proverbial “third rail”. You would think that they learned their lesson 16 years ago....

...and growing.
Brang et own!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lets get this over with.
Calderon is just a good businessman. He knows if Americans are armed it will be difficult for his business partners (drug cartel) to expand into and control America. You can’t have peasants shooting back after all! And of course obama does not want Americans to be armed , they might just remember that the reason they have a second amendment is to protect themselves against a corrupt illegal goverment. We need to deport obama to mexico, that’s immigration reform I could agree with!
