What Republicans need are Party leaders who can and will act like Democrats in holding together Party unity

I don’t know. The Bush decision to support Specter and Chafee were disasters. They demonstrated that you can oppose Party policies and still get party support. And I do not see any current leaders, or even up-and-coming leaders who would be willing to enforce Party discipline.
