Basil,

I just read from a trusted friend of ours, who explained that visitors who have Texas CHL’s can walk into the facility (still armed) in the employee line...

I have not confirmed if the line has a big stupid sign above it saying “CHL’s Here”, but we are to swipe our CHL (plastic) and not miss a beat walking intothe facility...We will be intermixed with the employees going into that line as well, so it should difuse our license to the employees badges that have to do the same thing...

Now my biggest concern now is the how this will effecct the out of state licenses??? We have Reciprocity with a great many states, and their permits and licenses may be a little different, and may not have the swipable mag strip on the back to afford a clean pass into the state capitol...

This is a question I am going to post on the other forum as well...

However, when asked if he carries to work, he said he prefers to keep that to himself. "I wouldn't care to answer, said Senator Seliger. “That's the beauty of the concealed carry license. You know I can. You know I may. So the best thing is for people not to mess with other people."

An armed society is a polite society

“Much to the chagrin of some member of my staff, I’m thinking of taking a class myself,” said Senator Ellis.

Take the class Ellis! You’ll learn a lot.

I like Texas more and more.

So do I. And I'm a Texan!

Thanks for the info—I never noticed it had a swipe strip on it!

Neat story.

On a similar note, myself, my wife, my sister, and her husband all took the NRA Basic Practical course yesterday, and we are now certified to get our conceal carry license in MO. We’ll all be calling the sheriff tomorrow!

Check out what the TSRA President basically told us...

Bottom line...I still think this stinks...We worked too damn hard on SB501 back in 2005, for this very thing...And they’ve already caved to the nervous ninnies...

Even though there is a “fix”, either we swipe the CHL plastic, or we ask permission from a “monitor” at the door by having to physically show someone our crdentials that are supposed to remain private and no hint (by law) are those credentials, or our status, supposed to be revealed in public in any way shape or form...

I seriously doubt that that this is a discrete “screening” process...I may be wrong, but I have not been to the capitol since last summer...

We’ll all have to see how this all goes down...

school, yes - on the premises which has special definition for schools (does not include parking lot, etc)

hospital, no

hospital has to be 30.06 posted like any other business.
