White House Slammed for Oil Spill - Obama's Katrina? (Lib Media Turning on The One?)
The Los Angeles Times ^ | Monday, May 24, 2010 | Johanna Neuman

Posted on 05/24/2010 8:22:01 AM PDT by kristinn

This is Day 35.

For more than a month, oil has pulsed into the Gulf of Mexico at the rate that is pegged at anywhere from 5,000 to 20,000 barrels a day. Scientists and engineers at BP have tried unsuccessfully to cap the gusher, with another rescue effort on tap for Wednesday. Oil is coating birds, fish and shores in a horrible preview of the ecological and economic disaster that is looming. Louisiana's frustrated Gov. Bobby Jindal has pointedly asked why the federal government has deserted the state -- again."We need more urgency, we need a plan," he said.

SNIP

But, like the oil heading for the shores, the criticisms are likely to grow even louder and could clog not only the shores but also Obama's presidency. And maybe they should.

When the media starts counting the days of incompetence in your presidency--like they did with Jimmy Carter--you know you're in trouble.

Remember it took several years for the media questioning of Carter before the electorate acted. That was the media of the 1970’s, this is 2010 and the media is more committed to the communist world view now more than ever. I wonder what a former Gov of an oil producing state would have done?

Where’s all the talk about “The Messiah” now? Where’s the doctored photos with the halos?

You mean one that has had to deal with well accidents and has had to actually talk to high level officers of oil companies? You mean one that has experience working with the oil industry?

According to the MSM, such a person does not exist.

This administration has not a clue what to do about any catastrophe. The majority voted for inexperience. Here's to 'em!

“When the media starts counting the days of incompetence in your presidency—like they did with Jimmy Carter—you know you’re in trouble.”

You’ll get the occassional reporterette who strays off the reservation. But, when it really matters, (election time), the State Controlled Media will sing the praises of Obama. And if they can’t find any praises to sing, they’ll make some up.

I don’t buy it. It’s a feint. “Oh, look we’re going after Obama”. Till he comes out with his newest socialist plan.

If you can prevent a major ecological disaster when the government and professional oil companies can’t...you might be a redneck.

Well the LA Times is about to feel the wrath of The One. They’ve ruined the pleasant afterglow of Barry’s golf weekend without the shewolf.

How about the fact that NObama stopped all fishing, etc, from the first?

There were at least 3 weeks that the fishing industry could have gone out 24/7 & removed as much product as possible.

There was no oil in the fishing beds at that time.

I hope someone sues the Feds over a premature cutoff of fishing & the loss of income, etc.

Feh.

When the media bothers to take Obama’s administration to task for ANY of the Islamist terrorist attacks in the US (including the Ft. Hood shooting which should NEVER have happened) instead of BLAMING Americans for these “lone nuts”, THEN maybe it can be claimed that the White House is being “slammed” for inaction...

For now, the media continues to pick and choose outrages which serve the liberal agenda and make him seem “moderate” not Maoist.
