At least nine people were shot on a hot night in Chicago, and one of them was killed, authorities said. No one was in custody for any of the shootings this morning.
A 35-year-old man was shot dead while standing outside a vehicle near Washington Park, police said. The shooting happened about 9:10 p.m. in the 5800 block of South Russell Drive.
About an hour later, a 22-year-old man was shot in his leg in the 8000 block of South Saginaw Avenue. The victim heard shots and felt a pain in his leg, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

Daley said his gun control laws are working and he doesn’t care what the USSC has to say, he’s not weakening his laws.
The shootings have to be done by the Chicago police or the mayor’s cronies, since they’re the only ones who can have handguns in Chicago.
There must have been long lines at Sex in the City 2! I know I would be angry if I couldn’t get in to see that masterpiece. They must use crappy guns in the hood, and be poor marksmen. In Omaha if you get shot by a conceal carry white guy while you try to hold up Walgreens, your head will be gone, and you’ll be chillin’ with the devil!

I swear they are shooting each other up like all hell in North Omaha. And the sad thing is nobody cares. Even the blacks don’t really care as long they don’t get caught in the crossfire. There has to be a half dozen running battles in the city before there is a mention on the news before the weather. A single murder in North Omaha doesn’t even get a mention, unless it’s pooooolice assisted.
