Occupied America, the fifth edition, includes an image of Fidel Castro on the front cover, and Castro and Che Guevara on the back cover. “We are fed up. We are going to move to do away with the injustice to the Chicano and if the ‘gringo’ doesn’t get out of our way, we will stampede over him.”

“Gutierrez attacked the gringo establishment angrily at a press conference and called upon Chicanos to ‘Kill the gringo.'

Reviewing this material for the National Association of Scholars, Ashley Thorne commented that, “Actually, ‘kill the gringo’ meant ‘kill the gringo.’ But admitting that makes Mexicans look radical, infuriated, revolutionary, Acuña sidestepped that image and substituted it with one of browbeaten Latinos rising to overthrow injustice.”

Nice try! I look forward to loading these folks onto trains.

Sounds like a perfect book to read the “youth” in “storytime”.
TUSD, (Tucson Unified) was also punishing “Hispanic youth” differently than other skin color/ethnicity. The buzz on that died down quickly due to lack of MSM interest.

http://www.azcentral.com/members/Blog/DougMacE/63549

TUSD “two tiered” discipline base on “race”.

...From there the Plan goes on to spell out in detail its expectations of school administrators, which is the reduction of harsh discipline penalties “especially those of African American and Hispanic students,” a point the Plan repeats over and over again.

Even one of TUSD’s governing board members appears to have grasped the disturbing message this document sends to the district’s faculty — that rates of discipline among Black and Hispanic students are high not because the students are misbehaving, but because the district administrators are insensitive to minorities.

Today, on the Arizona Daily Star website, a reader named “Mark S (markstegeman)” made the following comment following a Star story about my Sunday column:

“I felt that one unintended consequence of the discipline policies outlined in the post-unitary plan could be the creation of incentives for schools to apply different standards of discipline to students from different groups. That was one reason that I voted against the plan.”

A Mark Stegeman is a member of the TUSD board. Stegeman was the only board member to vote against the Plan when it was approved in July.

**interesting read

Ethnic Studies “studies” have some issues

I wrote on TUSD’s recruiting program for left-wing political activism, its Ethnic Studies program in Viewpoints over the weekend.

I have been hearing from quite a few readers, commenting both pro and con, of course. But I found the observations of one reader in particular quite interesting — those of a statistician for one of the major Phoenix-area public school districts.

He raised a fascinating question: When ethnic-studies director Augustine Romero prepared his much-hyped “studies” of how his students perform so much better than other students (the implication being that their academics soared as a result of taking Ethnic Studies), why did he use 11th grade AIMS test results?

As you can see, the so-called studies actually are just a series of bar charts based upon data of uncertain origins. But simply taking Romero’s claims on face value, his students appear to have done much better academically than did the control group.

He uses AIMS test results from a three-year period seemingly randomly. Why he used some AIMS test results for one comparison, then another year’s results for still another bar chart is unclear. But the one constant among the high-school results is that he uses only those of 11th graders.

This is puzzling, since the high-school AIMS test is administered in THE TENTH GRADE, not the 11th grade. Basically, there are only two cohorts of students who take the AIMS test in 11th grade: Those who failed the test in their sophomore year, and those who take it again in order to bulk up their scores to pursue a scholarship.

The former group is by far the larger of the two. Kids usually only take the AIMS test again if they fail it. And, among the students who failed the 10th grade test, only about 20-30 percent of those students pass the test the second time around in the school district of the statistician with whom I spoke on Monday. We are discussing an academically challenged group of students, in other words.

So, let’s take Romero’s first “cohort” study as an example....

but no, this "author" is just the anti-immigration gift that keeps on giving, with such quotes as:

""We have an aging white America. . . . They are dying. . . . They are ******** in their pants with fear! I love it!"

""We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him." And since 1970, he has professed, "Our devil has pale skin and blue eyes."

Oh wait, I forgot this little gem--

" "The border remains a military zone. We remain a hunted people. Now you think you have a destiny to fulfill in the land that historically has been ours for forty thousand years. And we're a new Mestizo nation. And they want us to discuss civil rights. Civil rights. What law made by white men to oppress all of us of color, female and male. This is our homeland. We cannot - we will not- and we must not be made illegal in our own homeland. We are not immigrants that came from another country to another country. We are migrants, free to travel the length and breadth of the Americas because we belong here. We are millions. We just have to survive. We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They are dying. It's a matter of time. The explosion is in our population."

I wish I had enough money to buy the LA Times outright.
I would run an article of the Azteca/Mestizo philosophy on the front page every day, with quotes like that one in bold print.

If the people only knew... they would vote to detain, ID and deport all illegals. And stop the ethnic studies farce.

Oh wait. They already did that in AZ!!! YEAH!

Why don’t they rise up to the injustice in their own country?

I guess because there just aren’t enough gringos to pay for their healthcare/education/food/housing and so forth there. Maybe they should leave a few of us alive to do that. (hindsight is 20/20)

My question, too. I guess they don't have the balls to take on a government that fights back. And the drug dealers, too.

If they took over tomorrow, they would eff up this country the same way mexico is effed up.

....Never pretend you can help them conquer their rights by education alone, while they must endure a despotic government.”....

That applies to the situation of ALL Americans, right now! The “despotic government” is the Obama administration!!!!

Stand with Arizona! Arizona is the real America!!!!

True, and one indicator of this truth is that in So Cal there are Hispanic neighborhoods where gang and family rivalries go back generations. Selling drugs to the 'Gringo' is just a routine way of making a living.

In these places, immigrants from Mexico took over a long time ago. The Mexican drug cartels have taken over Yosemite and made it into a machine gun ringed pot plantation.

We can see from the public approval of the AZ laws that a solid majority of Americans is awakened to the problem. It's no longer 'verboten' to talk about deportation, and what is misnamed 'reverse racism' among minorities. That's progress. Now we need good Republican governors and need to take back Congress.
