FBI releases Murtha records (Only a few)
The Washington Times ^ | May 25, 2010 | Jim McElhatton

The FBI on Tuesday released hundreds of pages of records concerning late Pennsylvania Democratic Congressman John Murtha, but declined to make public any information about an ongoing investigation into allegations of kickbacks involving defense contractors.

The FBI released 24 pages of news articles involving the investigation into defense contractors that received millions of dollars in "earmarks", but said the "bulk" of the materials on the probe must remain sealed.

"As this investigative file is still in 'pending status', the bulk of the file's FBI documents are not releasable until the conclusion of the investigation" the FBI said in releasing the Murtha documents on its Web site Tuesday morning.

The Washington Times, among others, filed a request for the FBI documents mentioning Mr. Murtha under the Freedom of Information Act after his death at age 77 in February.

As Pennsylvania's longest serving congressman, Murtha was a long-serving member of the powerful House Defense Appropriations subcommittee.

It would seem Navy Secretary Mabus would have at least waited until the FBI investigation was completed to name a Navy ship after Murtha.

If Secretary Mabus hadn’t named a ship after him and the enemedia hadn’t tried to make a hero out of him I’d agree with you, but they have so I definitely don’t agree.

He was a Marine, so I’d suggest naming the bayonet dummies after him.

That’s true... I was only thinking about him. He’s facing a much higher justice than ours.

Let it go? Not hardly, if he did something against the law. Outing his lawlessness would go a long way in keeping his assistant from winning again in Nov.

Unfortunately, your answer is typical Republican--always staying above the fray. Just look where it has gotten Repubs!

When you really know your enemy, and I think even most Repubs are beginning to know Dems, you become a bulldog and NEVER let go--that is, if you really want to win. I think some Repubs don't care as long as they get to stay in DC, and that is much of the problem.

“The mans dead...let it go”.... Not so fast. The guy who was just elect to replace him was a key member of his staff. Legislators don’t usually get kickbacks etc. without the help of some of their staff. Let’s see where this leads.

Perhaps, something will turn up on former Murtha staffer, PA-12 Rep Critz. Tying Murtha to Critz during the November election would be useful so let’s keep digging up the Dim poop.

Critz worked for Murtha for ten years so he’s very familiar with Murtha’s way of doing business. I’d bet money Critz’ name shows up plenty in those FBI flies.

Since this guy who won Murthas seat is a former aid I wonder how deeply mired he is.

Murtha’s name shall be forever enshrined with the likes of Cesar Armando Laurean,Oswald, Whitman, and Adam Korkesh as a racing stripe in the scivvey shorts of the Corps

Please do not forget to add President for Life Barrak Hussien Odumbo’s personal friend and Pastor for 20 years, Rev. Jeremiah “G**-D*** America” Wright.

That is a list of FORMER Marines. They surrendered their EGA’s.

One of the Marines he smeared is STILL languishing. He doesn’t deserve to rest in peace until ALL names are cleared and he certainly doesn’t deserve to have a ship whose purpose to CARRY MARINES named after him. The man is a pig and I hope he’s in a VERY warm place right now.
