Don’t be coy. You know exactly what I mean by “prepared comments”. Your posting history seems to show that many of your remarks are pretty polished, short and sweet. If that’s just your ‘style’ - and working with radio it just may be if you prepare copy day in and day out - then you have my apologies. Usually when comments seem so well-crafted they are posted that way for a reason.
Your questions to me at the end of your response to my questions (which you never really answered) just goes to show that you have no understanding of where I’m coming from.
I’ve got relatives in ALL THREE CEMETERIES you mentioned so your question of who is more important is disgusting to me.
MY point remains that the President should be presiding over services at Arlington National Cemetery, and at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. NOT another vacation and showing up because you happen to be in the area...
OK. I’ll take the “prepared comments” remark as a compliment since in a parallel life I occasionally write and manage internal corporate communications. I don’t work in radio.
I thank your family for their service, and we can agree to disagree. It is possible I do not know where you are coming from.
This thread has been composed of various opinions, from those who are glad he’s not stepping on sacred ground (and never should), to those who are mad because he is not, and a few who think there is too much being made of the situation. I’m part of the latter group.
Your point that he is heading out to Chicago for some R&R and will visit there simply because it happens to be convenient in relation to his travel plans is a good one.
In no way was my comment about importance of our war heroes in different cemeteries meant to disgust you. Sorry about that.
