Were you disturbed when Bush went to Normandy instead of Arlington? Are the war heroes buried in Chicago less important than those in Normandy or Arlington?

There is a big diffference between the American Cemetaries in Normandy, and the ratther small Abe Lincoln National Cemetary. Both in size and signifgence. Arlington symbolizes all those who died in the service of the Republic, not just those interned there. Normandy stands for the magnitude of the effort required to invade and free Europe from Hitler's clutches. Now if he'd gone to the Punchbowl, that would be somewhat more akin to Normandy, symbolizing as it does those who gave all to defeat Imperial Japan.

Thanks for your response to that... I literally couldn’t even think straight after that comment, much less wage a defense against the implications he was trying to assert.
