Chris Christie to teacher: If you don’t like my education budget, find a new job

But borough teacher Rita Wilson, a Kearny resident, argued that if she were paid $3 an hour for the 30 children in her class, she’d be earning $83,000, and she makes nothing near that.

“You’re getting more than that if you include the cost of your benefits,” Christie interrupted.

When Wilson, who has a master’s degree, said she was not being compensated for her education and experience, Christie said:

“Well, you know then that you don’t have to do it.” Some in the audience applauded…

“Your union said that is the greatest assault on public education in the history of the state,” Christie said. “That’s why the union has no credibility, stupid statements like that.”

I hope she understood what he said. I realized years ago in my profession, that if I don’t like the conditions of my employment I try to change them, when I’m no longer able to affect the conditions I can lump it or leave it, it’s a calculation you make, but you do your very best until the end one way or the other.

We need more politicos like him, because we have to make serious changes in the near future.

Considering how strong the unions control the state of NJ, all the money he saves by his stringent budget cuts will have to be spent on his personal security.

I was a little concerned that he might be a RINO.

As an ex-New Jersey resident I felt the same way, but of the two plus the independent stalking horse he seemed the most logical. Happily he seems to be doing what he said he'd do. Which just proves that a republican doesn't need to be a RINO to win in the north east. Hopefully Linda McMahon in CT is taking notes.

FINALLY, someone with some guts to stand up to the teachers union. I like this guy a lot! I would vote for him for President. New Jersey is very fortunate to have this man who is determined to stand his ground for what he believes. Every time I hear him talk, I am very impressed. Christie for President!

When I was in college the saying was, if you flunk out of your major go into education. If you flunk out of education take journalism.

Pray for America

With a school choice, Rita could make even more than that -- if she were any good.

So why doesn't she support school choice?

This guy has a High “T” count to be sure. Hope you all saw the smack down he did on the candy ass reporter complaining about his “tone”. He came back and told him that he was being “honest & fresh”

The reporter wilted like a 2 day old pansy in the sun.

He approaches politics with all of the abandon and “I don’t give a sh!t” attitude of someone who doesn’t care whether or not he gets re-elected.
