Angry relatives of 9/11 victims tonight clashed with supporters of a planned mosque near Ground Zero at a raucous community-board hearing in Manhattan.

Holding up photos of loved ones killed in the Twin Tower terror attacks and carrying signs such as, "Honor 3,000, 9/11 — No mosque!" opponents to the proposed Cordoba House on Park Place called the plan a slap in the face.

"It’s an insult. It’s demeaning to build a shrine to the very ideology that attacked the World Trade Center," said Pamela Geller, who was sitting with 9//1 family members at the forum on Greenwich Street.

I have no idea if it is true, but read a comment to an article on this subject, that said if it is declared a landmark, that would kill the mosque plans. It is certainly worth the 0/11 families to check it out.

I was listening to a radio show. One of the callers said the mosque, if approved, would open on 09/11/2011 - the 10th anniversary.

Now I normally don't approve of NYC's famous big city government, but they have got to find some obscure technicality or regulation to prevent this from being built.

What do these places have in common.

Haga Sophia, Istanbul Turkey

The Temple Mount, Jersulem

Answer: Both were important religious sites Haga Sophia to the Church in Constantinople and the Temple Mount was of course the ancient temple of the Jews.

Yet today both sites have mosques built over them.

The modern equivalent is to build a mosque near the site of the twin towers symbolizing islamofacist conquest of America.

This is what Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, a few years ago, said at the Chautauqua Institution in New York:

"Seven centuries before the Declaration of Independence was written Shari'a Law was intended to protect life, religion, property, family and mental well being. This is why I assert that America is in fact a Shari'a compliant state". Kind of like Hussain telling the arab world the US is the largest muslim country, but I digress.

Unfortunately, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf (Imam of the proposed "cultural center") has willing accomplices within progressive ranks in the US.

Make no mistake about it, the greatest generation would not allow a Sushi restaraunt to be built next to the USS Arizona memorial. Should we allow this outrage?

Likely the idea and plans are coming from the Islamic terrorist front group C.A.I.R, whose goal is to lull Americans into a stupor of believing that Islam is just like mom and apple pie.

There’s a campaign to make the existing building a “historic site”, which would both save it and nix the mosque. Win win :)
