Arizona got a response. Texas is still waiting for an answer.

After repeated requests for help, President Barack Obama has agreed to send 1,200 National Guard troops to Arizona's border with Mexico. But so far, the president hasn't responded to Texas' request for assistance.

Gov. Rick Perry has sent letters to Obama, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano requesting National Guard troops for the Texas-Mexico border.

Texas should hire thousands more Rangers.....especially those retired military. Turn them loose on the border. I would bet that the American people would donate millions to accomplish this.

Selective enforcement of federal immigration laws should be the straw that broken the camel’s back for Texas! Let Puerto Rico come in and become the 50th state while Texas legally secedes and starts impaling coyotes and drug kingpins on fenceposts across the Texas/Mexico border!

Perrry is a RINO like Kay Bailey and Cornyn.

Doesn’t matter. The 1200 he’s sending will be no more advantageous for Arizona than they are for Texas (or here in Illinois, for that matter...).

Well, it is “up to” 1,200 that he may send. Also, they are supposed to stay out of the most active drug and human smuggling corridors.

Yep. Most likely, they'll be keeping an eye on Phoenix strip clubs...

Possibly, but we can still put enough pressure on him to get things done. He and his family were all Democrats until about the time the Left took over. He left and his family followed. (I have never met Rick, but know his father & mother.)

They are NOT lefties, are patriotic and they are Texans. There is more to that than political labels. They are from the county I live in and my family has lived here 110+ years.

Perry should stop p***y footing around with the Feds and just call up the Texas Defense Forces.

Texas should just encourage anyone who wants to come to their border and interdict illegals to do so.

We have to ditch the feds here. They are worthless. Waiting around for the federal government to save us is just plain dumb. Texas would be 10 times stronger on its own.

I’ve never been there, but I thoroughly agree with that assessment. Texans have brass balls!

There is a back room deal with John McCain. He gets to look like a Conservative through the election to get reelected and then he votes to ram through the Amnesty bill.

McCain is not an American any more. He is a weasel politician who will do anything to remain in power and will sell our country down the river to do so.

The Israelis have put up a security wall that stands about 30 feet tall. It has been very effective in stopping terrorist attacks. Think of what it could do for our illegal immigration problem! I have to wonder how angry the POSOTUS, ICE, et al would get if there was a private fund raising drive (by FR?) to finance the building of the same kind of wall? And what if the Israelis were hired to build it? It would rankle Obama like you wouldn't believe. Have the Israeli company be the contractor who would hire local American skilled workers.

Texas as well as the rest of the Southern States( the old Confedercy) needs to understand that no help will be coming from the Federal government. Arziona DID NOT get 1200 Combat troops, they received 1200 unarmed file clerks! Texas should declare it’s independence until such time as obama can prove he is a Natural Born citizen( both parents U.S. citizens)

Remember when W used the same "up to" when he sent the NG to save the day. Yeah, most did nothing but hold the furniture down for the very short time they were there. Nothing was accomplished and all was a waste of time. If only they had been sent with full duty to get the job done.
