Be honest. There's nothing special about the Rolling Thunder vets. Obama is snubbing all vets from all wars by skipping Memorial Day at Arlington.
I have a photo of Rumsfeld hanging out with the Rolling Thunder taken by my daughter on Memorial Day when we had a real President.
At this time in American History, Nam Vets represent the largest group of America’s wartime veterans. While not approaching the vast numbers of vets from WW2,the Nam era had over 3 million servicemen and women serve in country from 63 to 73. If you count those in Thailand, the Philippines, Korea, and Yankee Station the numbers may go as high as 4 million. They were volunteers, draftees, regulars, some Guardsmen and some Reservists. They represent a cross section of America, then and now.To treat them with such disrespect is an abysmal performance by the CiC.But Obama sees the world through the red prism of his mentors in Hawaii, NYC. Cambridge, and Chicago. For them Vietnam isa crime and their work to end it is the great moment of their lives. Ignoring the vets of that war is Obama’s way of showing respect to his mentors.
