CBO Director Dr. Douglas Elmendorf has posted the slides he used in a presentation Wednesday to the Institute of Medicine, titled “Health Costs and the Federal Budget.” The presentation obliterates the claims of the President and his allies about the effects of the new laws on federal health spending and the budget.
For months the President and his Budget Director correctly argued that the goal of health care reform was to “bend the cost curve down.” The projected path of per capita health spending is unsustainable and will result in three bad outcomes:
1. Those with health insurance will have less money available for other needs; 2. It will be harder for the uninsured to buy insurance; 3. Government spending on Medicare and Medicaid will break federal and state budgets.
A common refrain from the President and his Budget Director was “health care reform is entitlement reform.” And through two budget cycles, when senior Administration officials were pressed on their plans for deficit reduction, they always returned to the argument that health care reform would substantially improve the federal budget outlook.
CBO Director Dr. Douglas Elmendorf has shown this argument to be incorrect.

We marched, we wrote letters, we made phone calls, conservative opinion makers analyzed and condemned the plan on radio, tv, the press and the internet. But they shoved it down our throats anyway, with bribes and false assurances. What more could we do?
I've got reason to believe that lots of moderates and even self-described progressives are ready to vomit up the corruption on this administration by voting for conservative candidates this Fall. A 'progressive' friend of mine is now sending me emails of illegal border crossing videos... as if I didn't know already, lol. The Great Imposter has awakened a sleeping giant, and ticked off a huge block of his former supporters.
Dr. Micheal Savage was relating last night how, at his disastrous press conference Bambi pointed to Helen Thomas for respite, expecting a softball question. Instead, she took him to task about Afghanistan. Michael was elated, as he himself sees no reason for us to waste our blood and money in that spot.
I make phone calls. I write letters to the Editor of my local rag, er newspaper. Not always for publication but often to let them know we are not amused by their hypocrisy.
I called the VFW headquarters, etc.
I call political creeps all across the country. Sometimes to tell them we are watching them at other times to say Thank you.
Even if our letters are not for publication we can write local editors and remind them of the truth.
This war is being prosecuted like a community organizing effort. We need to get out of Afghanistan NOW
We can talk to our neighbors, strangers, anyone who will listen.
Health care “reform” was the crime of the century. It will destroy America as we know it.

Increased costs with worse health care. No surprise.
Repeal the thing FAST (or declare it unconstitutional). Impeach and try the criminals who foisted this thing on us in defiance of public opinion, election results, and the rules of Congress!!!!
