Does Seoul, Korea count? Maybe you've patrolled bigger cities. Did any number of joint patrols with the KNP. This tactic and level of demonstrative heavy handedness is something I'd expect to see from their riot police.

Oh, did I mention that for the past 10 years or so, I've been working as an insurance defense investigator and have done a number of investigations for municipalities being sued for police brutality? But then again....you're the expert.

I’m sorry, I should rephrase....Policing the Civilians of a city based on different standards and tactics from that of a Military Cop policing their own is quite different.

Also, being an Insurance DEFENSE Investigator is absolutely different from having to approach and confront SUSPECTS UNKNOWN (which this guy was) and having to make split second decisions.

Most full time military people I know (including several who have been in Iraq and Afghanistan) have nothing but complaints when they get "weekend warrior" reservists who are cops in their regular jobs.

The complaint is always the same: they walk in thinking they're all John Wayne and thinking that they're super-dooper SWAT trained "experts" who know how to do anything and everything, then they screw something up on the very first patrol and put the real soldiers lives in danger.

Saying only cops understand and can criticize the tactics of other cops is the intellectual equivalent of saying only black people understand and can criticize Barack Obama. And I have little patience for either.
