The Gulf Spill: Seizing a Crisis to Grab Your Power Posted By Christopher C. Horner On May 28, 2010

Yesterday’s announcements of slitting our own throat of domestic energy production gives cause to revisit who the man is and where he wants to take us.

Rahm Emanuel among others in the Obama administration are on record asserting their philosophy that no “crisis” should ever go to waste. This mentality, of course, carries the moral hazard of promoting “crises” in the news cycle, and as an operating mentality. We have seen this among green activists (including Obama appointees for decades.

With crises being your strategic plan for hooks to impose an unpopular and radical agenda, you might even allow crises to develop where they could have been nipped into mere incidents. Who knows.

We do know that Obama has a record of words and now deeds declaring war on all sources of energy that work, including their domestic production: shale gas, coal, oil shale, and petroleum.

Barack Obama and his gloomy band seek to force you out of your lifestyle, meaning your freedoms, all of which they find intolerable and that you cannot be trusted with. Obama even noted in a speech that, in a world where he is president, we can’t eat what we want, drive what we want, or put our thermostat where we want (other than that, you are perfectly free to do what you wish…until further notice).

His “energy czar” later added policy meat to these very strange rhetorical bones when she told U.S. News that you shouldn’t even have the right to control your own energy use. But changing that, she comforted readers, will be a savings to you. They’re saving a fortune in India and other poor countries right now, for

How about the SEALS blowing it up and have it collapse in on itself?

I’m starting to see this “leak” as sort of a metaphor for the ‘RAT collapse of our economy. The illegal alien invasion and the Obama regime in general.

One thing is certain; there are no eye witnesses.

I don’t believe an ounce of this “accident” story.

Something fishy about this whole scenario. . Just doesn't pass the smell test. . And this delayed response. . No matter what you think of it, it's been a great diversion - for what?

Considering the possibly legal President is a friend of terrorists and America’s enemies and wages war against America’s citizens, the BP explosion & spilling could well be Obama’s “Reichstag Fire”.

Perhaps an Obama operative sabataged the BP platform. With his bunch of “let no crisis go to waste”, they may well now be “creating” crisis’es.

Like the “unexplained” financial meltdown shortly before the 2008 elections. Most likely was engineered.

I have no basis to argue with that statement.

For starters, off-shore drilling has been put on hold. And this decision when Obama had recently announced that we can resume drilling.

The American public have been firmly expressing our desire to drill. We don’t want to reply on foreign oil. America has the resources; crude, coal, hydro, thermo, nuclear, etc. We can be completely self-reliant.

What would happen if the Saudi’s and the S. American’s decided to cut our supplies? You think we’re in a crisis now?

I also find it rather interesting that shortly after these mining “accidents”, Obama called for investigations. Could it be that not only does the administration want to own banks and car manufacturing co’s, but also oil and mining co’s as well.

The MSM wants bailout for these newspapers. Can you imagine a government owned press?

How will this affect our freedom? Our economy? How will this affect our livelihood?

BIG Brother’s here as we’ve never seen it before.

Keep your powder dry.

Excellent article!

I don't think that this was an accident. Obama has deliberately exacerbated and exaggerated the problem in order to advance his agenda.

Oh, it's been thoroughly explained. The Rats baked and own that pie, they just don't want anyone to know about it.

I’ve thought all along the timing sure was coincidental. Convenient. Combined with the lack of response, putting off Jindal’s requests for weeks, playing basketball and vacationing, etc. He’s been on the job since day one, fer sure....
