Border law opponents want international fix in Arizona

Lawmakers from Arizona who oppose their state's crackdown on illegal aliens are joining up with lawmakers from the Mexican state of Sonora to call on the Organization of the American States for a fix.

The Arizona statute, which essentially duplicates federal law to allow law enforcement officers to check the legal status of those they have reasonable suspicion may be in the United States illegally, has been targeted byMexican authorities.

WND reported when the Mexican government said it respected the Obama administration's decision to send 1,200 National Guard troops to the U.S. southern border to counter cross-border drug and weapons trafficking as long as the troops don't enforce U.S. immigration laws.

The Embassy of Mexico in Washington, D.C., said, "Regarding the administration's decision to send 1,200 National Guard servicemen to the U.S. Southern border, the government of Mexico trusts that this decision will help to channel additional U.S. resources to enhance efforts to prevent the illegal flows of weapons and bulk cash into Mexico, which provide organized crime with its firepower and its ability to corrupt."

It continued, "Additionally, the government of Mexico expects that National Guard personnel will strengthen U.S. operations in the fight against transnational organized crime that operates on both sides of our common border and that it will not, in accordance to its legal obligations, conduct activities directly linked to the enforcement of immigration laws [emphasis added]."

While the Arizona law bans racial profiling, the state has been accused of establishing the law to target suspects based on race. Federal immigration authorities even have suggested they may not cooperate with the state in enforcing the nation's immigration laws.

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

Boy, they have very little concern for Mexico considering what is taking place there. Strange how they want to protect the Mexican citizens who are braking the law here but have no concern for the citizens who live in Mexico

Aguirre reported others from Arizona included Sens. Manny Alvarez, Linda Lopez and Jorge Luis Garcia. Mayors and elected representatives from Santa Cruz County and the cities of Douglas, San Luis, Nogales and Somerton also participated.

THE REAL HATE IN ARIZONA Accuracy in Academia investigated "ethnic studies" and uncovered damaging material in the high schools of Tuscon, Arizona. Paulo Freire (a Brazilian Marxist)'s book called Pedagogy of the Oppressed is required reading in Arizona's "Raza Studies" (ie, Race Studies), otherwise known as "Mexican-American courses."

Another favorite is "Occupied America" by Rodolfo Acuna, professor of Chicano Studies at California State University in Northridge. "Occupied America," according to the invaders, includes a map of Mexico in 1821 which includes the American Southwest. A choice quote from "Occupied America." The people of Arizona are under no obligation to subsidize Marxist pedagogues determined to incite violence and racial hatred against them and their descendants. Can't help but wonder why the Far Left ostensibly committed to fighting "racism" is so quiet about government-sponsored racial hatred---and threats of savage violence---in American public schools. That disturbing line of inquiry raises more questions than answers.

In a word, no. The United States is a sovereign nation. We do not want or need, nor will we accept any "international" meddling in States affairs. If the federal government fails in its duty in this regard, then what good is it?

The sore losers just can't accept that Arizona's duly elected representatives have crafted a completely legal law that a majority of Arizona citizens want and support. No-one outside Arizona should be telling Arizona citizens what to do in Arizona.

I was listening to the radio yesterday. At the bottom of the hour news break a "Big Three" report form the rallies in Phoenix came on. First the reporterette commented on the anti 1070 crowd and how they were opposed due to racial profiling, unfair, unconstitutional, blah, blah, blah. At the end of the report she mentioned that there were also people who were there in support of 1070 ...Reporter:"there were also demonstrators who were here to support the Arizona Governor. We interviewed (forgot name), a SELF DESCRIBED WHITE SUPREMACIST..."

I never got to hear the interview clip. I cut out at that point. Maybe someone at the station had had enough and stopped the tape. Nah there's no liberal bias in the news.
