SNIPPET: “A conservative media watchdog says that in the coverage of the recent Israeli raid on a flotilla carrying pro-Palestinian “activists,” the major networks have ignored Israel’s valid reasons for blockading Palestinian terrorist groups.
Dan Gainor, vice president for business and culture at the Culture and Media Institute (CMI) of the Media Research Center, does not think the public should expect the mainstream media in America to report the Israeli raid story fairly. He notes that the media has already failed to report on why Israel is blockading access to Gaza in the first place.
“Israel made an agreement with the Palestinians to withdraw from Gaza. Part of the agreement was they get to still control the sea and air lanes to prevent people from bringing in guns...ammunition...bombs and missiles that they were constantly bringing in, and Israel stopped them repeatedly from doing this,” Gainor explains. “Since Israel withdrew, Gaza elected Hamas, which is an internationally recognized terrorist group.””
