I think Bush 2 simply wimped out. I personally think he was a great-American and I thank G-d every day that he was president during 9/11 than Al Gore. But, he simply didn’t fight—he let the dems and the media bash him endlessly and he never fought back. I gave up when he didn’t fight for John Bolton to stay in the UN. (calling Islam a religion of peace didn’t help the situation either)

But you nailed it. He backed down before the dems. His greatest strength was his love for country and his determination to protect it. But did not defend himself and fight back when he should have. Sometimes a gentleman must fight back.
