TEL AVIVAt least nine pro-Palestinian activists died when Israeli commandos boarded a ship headed to the blockaded Gaza Strip early Monday, plunging Israel into a diplomatic crisis that could obstruct action on the most pressing issues in the Mideast, from U.S.-backed peace talks to sanctions against Iran.
The incident drew harsh words from the Arab world and questions from foes and allies about why the operation to intercept the six-ship flotilla, for which Israel had weeks to prepare, turned deadly. The United Nations Security Council met in emergency session to consider condemning Israel's actions.

Don’t bring paintguns to a knife fight...
My fear is that Obama will not just sit back and allow Israel’s enemies to attack...
he will be cheering their actions.
As a nation we cannot afford any stance but that of supporting “the apple of God’s eye”.
All nations will be brought against Israel...
and God will destroy those nations.
Just let the flotilla thru ... Israel could become Detroit in a month.
Isn’t that their plan?
Myself I was hoping for something out of a Jules Verne novel would have happened, like an unknown high speed boat with some form of cutting device disables the ships, shears off the rudders or props.
Israel has for decades found unique ways to built or modify equipment to fight its aggressors, now it needs something to strike fear in these groups trying to supply the people wishing to destroy Israel.
Or some use of limpet mines with low yield explosives, not enough to crack a hull but enough to give it a darn good shake.
The clash brought tensions with Turkey, one of Israel’s few friends in the Muslim world, to a boiling point.
One wonders what rock Mr. Mitnick must have been living under for him to still consider Turkey a friend of Israel. Turkey is poised to lead the Sunni segment of the muslim final assault on Israel...the assault that I hope and pray will leave the muslim world a smoldering heap of ashes.
My guess is that they will sink.
Turkey wants a better price for oil transhipments, other than that getting involved in that endless minor conflict is pointless and of little strategic value.
Israel can’t afford to play games, they know what is going on and appeasing any part of the world today makes the war worse for them..
I just finished that book, and am about 500% more informed now...
It’s excellent and I highly recommend it.
There are a few who are not “pre-trib rapture” believers, though, that took some offense at this “assumption” throughout the book.
You kind of expect that kind of idiocy from the EU, but England. So now the Brits don't believe that Israel is entitled to secure their own borders?
Of course it was all Israel's fault. :::sarc:::
Community organizing on the high seas.
Another feather in Obama’s socialist-pimp hat.
His overt antagonism against Israel and his pandering to the Jew hating muslims are clearly meant to signal to the world that Israel is on its own. Obama’s Amerika will no longer be the defender of Israel but will support and encourage those who want to bring about another Holocaust.
He has succeeded in delivering that message and now the Islamic Neanderthals can forge ahead in their endless campaign to wipe Israel from the map, knowing that Obama will not interfere unless it appears that Israel is gaining the upper hand.
At every turn they will feel free to challenge and attack Israel while Obama will aid and abet their attempted genocide.
What you won’t here in the media.....
I just learned from the Beck show that 5 other ships were boarded successfuly and without violence in this flotila. This ship was the last one.
Turkey might get more than they wish. It is at a point where Israel might as well get it started and sink the Turkish ships.
