What do you think it means lewis?
Are you really that naive? Did you even read the title to this thread?
Groups want FCC to police hate speech on talk radio, cable news networks and the internet...

The FCC has regulatory control on radio and television. Now they want it for the internet.
Of course the Obama FCC wouldn't want to "police speech" on the internet, NO, it's all about "bits and bytes and access with Obama's FCC.< /sarcasm >

What do you think it means when Liberals and Progressives are so excited about forcing it?

It doesn't mean "bits and bytes" and other than forcing them to provide "universal broadband access" to rural areas it doesn't have anything to do with ATT, Comcast or Verizon. It means control of your speech. It means giving the FCC complete regulatory control. It means defining "hate speech" as anything contrary to their thinking. It means the FCC Chairman could determine FreeRepublic is a hate site or even seditious.

Ever hear of Andrew Breitbart's Big Government?

This article is all about the FCC "net neutrality". You don't even have to read between the lines.
A coalition of more than 30 organizations argue in a letter to the FCC that the Internet has made it harder for the public to separate the facts from bigotry masquerading as news.

The groups also charge that syndicated radio and cable television programs "masquerading as news" use hate as a profit model.

#10,,,,I’ve thought for a long time that thru out our history, 45-48% of the people would just give this nation to anyone that said they wanted it, just because they said they wanted it. It’s a miracle we’ve made it this far. And we’re the next Isreal, bet on it. But don’t worry, congress will keep expending billions of buck on defense weapons, while refusing to allow them to be used for our defense.

It also means controlling criticism of government. Obama himself said in a recent speech that there was too much wrong information out there and that we needed to control this. The parallels to Nazi Germany are getting bigger and bigger.

The left during Bush’s years introduced a bill that would have made it illegal to talk about CONSPIRACY THEORIES. The implication was that it is bad for people to question their government as the US Government always tells the truth, questions undermine the authority of those who believe they should control what you think.

You personally probably believe you are a free thinker but I am going to show you that they control what you think in more areas than you would probably believe. In the biggest mystery in American history we have common sense telling you the correct answer but the American propaganda machine broadcasts hour after hour telling you if you think then you are a conspiracy theorist which makes you a probable nut case.

Virtually every day you can read or hear a “journalist” joking about a CONSPIRACY THEORY with the implication that anybody who believes the US Government had a group of conspirators is a nut case.

Case in point, the biggest mystery has been solved but you will not believe it, you will wait for BIG BROTHER’s broadcasts to tell you what you can think.

If free public discourse on political issues is ended, its an open door to an armed rebellion.

The monitoring of free speech in Britain and Canada is one of the reasons the Muslims and other unsavory groups have found such a foothold there. They are out to accomplish the same here.

How about hate speech by a former Beatle in the Whitehouse?
