Wait a second. This cannot be possible. Aren’t guns illegal in the UK?

Good thing the government is huge in the UK and they made guns illegal... for your protection, of course.

At least they mentioned the fact that it was a gunMAN, and not a gun, that killed them...

There is only one solution for a problem like this - stricter gun control laws!

That's right! So obviously it was a bunch of really, really noisy knives!! Waidaminnute. knives are illegal there, too.

Clearly, it's all a figment of someones imagination!

No, only handguns are banned in the UK.
For the rest it may be difficult to legal get a weapon
there but it´s possible.

People who live nearby were being urged to stay indoors for their own protection.

... in case bullets are still buzzing around like angry bees hours after the incident.

The only figment is your belief that guns are illegal in Britain, in fact only personal handguns are.

And your assertion that knives are illegal is ludicrous.

I was being ludicrous.

I was under the impression that a few years back the UK was considering banning certain knives, so that is where that comes from. I saw it here at FR, so it must be true.
; )
Sorry if our yankee flippancy offends.

Curse me for the gallows humor, but this reads like a Python bit.

Ms Pears said Mr Bird had been a taxi driver for 23 years and was a "real nice man".

Sue Matthews, a telephonist at A2B Taxis in Whitehaven, said the gunman lived alone, adding that he was a "quiet fellow".

Whitehaven????

My husband’s family is from there. Did they mention a motive for him going postal?
