Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) endorsed a Republican primary challenger to incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) on Wednesday.
Palin said she is backing attorney Joe Miller in his GOP primary effort to unseat Murkowski, a member of the Senate Republican leadership.
"Im proud to join so many other long-time Alaskans in supporting Joe Miller in the upcoming Alaska Republican Primary," the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate wrote in a Facebook post.
"Unfortunately, Lisa Murkowski and much of the political establishment have recently evolved into being a bigger part of the big government problem in Washington, and theyve strayed from the principles upon which they had espoused," Palin later added.
Palin's endorsement is arguably the most high-profile challenge she's made to establishment Republicans in Washington, where Murkowski serves as vice chairwoman of the Senate Republican Conference.

((((PING))))
This is certainly going to give the Murkowskis heartburn...!
Not as if she expected any support from these people anyway, either in DC or Alaska.
Sarah took out Lisa’s corrupt RINO daddy and now she may do the same to Lisa! :-)!
HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Take that, Lisa.
Palin power ... A beauty to behold ..
Sink the bad ones in the primaries and replace them with conservatives.
That is the way to do it if we can.
Dump Juan.
Not to mention she took potshots at both in her book when she talked about how Lisa was appointed to that seat.
Don’t know a great deal about Murkowski, but what is she guilty of that Juan McCain is not guilty of in spades?
Miller had better win. Otherwise it’ll look like Palin can’t even carry the Republicans in Alaska.
Dear Paladin2,
Get over it.
She’s made more enemies in Alaska than anywhere else, with the possible exception of Washington, DC.
Miller is a longshot, with or without Palin's endorsement. If Palin gave a rat's a$$ about what people would think, she would have stayed out of it.
She doesn't and she didn't. Good for her.
Mistakes were made.
We have California Freepers threatening to vote for Jerry Brown (the probable Democrat candidate, former two-term gov already, and if you really think he’s better than the GOP field, you’re an idiot) if Meg Whitman wins. So you’ll forgive me if I’m not that upset that Palin’s still supporting McCain.
Lisa Murkowski is another Catholic who is strongly pro-choice and her voting record (70 ACU lifetime) makes McCain look like Ronald Reagan.
