Obama faults GOP, BP as he defends agenda (Bush's fault!)
The Los Angeles Times ^ | June 2, 2010 | Michael Muskal

A feisty President Obama, whose popularity has been slipping in the polls, travels to Pennsylvania on Wednesday, where he will chastise Republicans and the oil company BP as he defends his administration’s efforts to build “a new foundation” for the country as it comes out of recession.

--snip--

The president is also tougher on the Republicans as the November elections approach and polls show the GOP running strongly in the generic congressional races.

“Some of you may have noticed that we have been building this foundation without much help from our friends in the other party. From our efforts to rescue the economy to health insurance reform to financial reform, most have sat on the sidelines and shouted from the bleachers. They said no to tax cuts for small businesses; no to tax credits for college tuition; no to investments in clean energy. They said no to protecting patients from insurance companies and consumers from big banks,” Obama will say.

He will also blame the Bush administration, a favorite target, for past failures including “gutting” the regulatory powers of government as seen in the gulf oil crisis, as well as in other areas such as mine safety, car safety and even protecting the financial system.

“As November approaches, leaders in the other party will campaign furiously on the same economic argument they’ve been making for decades. Fortunately, we don’t have to look back too many years to see how it turns out,” Obama argues.(continued)

Mr. Obama....Exactly how much money did you get from BP...

And why did your chief lady quit....and disappear off the face of the earth.

Did she know too much??

Well one would think in 18 months he’d be able to restore the regulatory authority that Bush “abandoned”.

The GOP can't stop anything. The only thing bipartisan has been the opposition to Obama's agenda.

Let him blame eveyone but himself. It just makes him look weaker and weaker to the American people and not fit for the job.

Exactly my thoughts too! See my post right above your post. All this will accomplish for him is to prove to the American people that he is not fit for the job.

LOL, Im sure no one in the MSM would/could figure that out. It needs to be said again and again...the dems don’t need any help from the republicans as they have a super majority. There’s nothing to stop them exc. themselves. Hey, they rammed thru HC w/o any help so they should go for broke. As it is the elephant in the room is everyone w/ even a partially functioning brain sees the writing on the wall, BIG BIG dem loses.

Everyone knows that Dubya was in charge of Fannie and Freddie. That he forced them to refuse an audit. That Bush placed Gorelick, Rahm, and assorted other dem crooks to work for Fannie and Freddie and earn millions of dollars on misstated earnings reports.

You arrogant, ignorant insult to donkey snot, it is because the "building" you are talking about is nothing of the sort, and the real issue is that you have been using a hydraulic ram to shove your socialist crap down their (and our) throats.

It is because many of "your friends in the other party" actually care about their country and want to act in its best interests that they aren't interesting in "helping" you.

Unbelievable. This POS certainly has the right frequency to boil blood.

‘Nothing is ever the Man-child’s fault.’

Worse! Nothing is ever his responsibility as POTUS to accept fault and lead to an adequate solution. only to point further blame (i.e. BP) and offer no solutions.

He must realize by this incident how weak and dependant big government really is on the private sector. He is part of the problem, not the solution.
