“Manzanita”? Sounds like a gay latino stage name. Just right for San Fran Sicko.

Phew, that was a close one!
But money well spent which otherwise would have been available to be wasted on helping the needy.

Just think of the SF bus driver that could have been hired for $175,000. I agree, what a waste.

Don't forget all the Oregon coast.

There are over 70 types. This one retails for 20 bucks a pot. One place has 50 ready. It is only available from stock. It must take a long time in the wild to find one. As for the owl. I have seen them live in storm drains. Another line of fraud.

When you see the hills of CA burning most of it is manzanita. Especially up that far north. I guess they found some sub-species they just couldn’t live without.

My husband, as a new Californian, late from Detroit, failed his biology leaf collection (a required assignment) because he identified manzanita as “mountain brush”. No Californian would ever have made that mistake. Manzanita grows profusely throughout the foothills in CA, easily identified by its red branches. It is an interesting and distinctive plant.
But, a kid from Detroit would have no way of knowing what it was, and neither would his parents. Nor, would they care.
