Washington (CNN) -- The Pentagon denied Thursday it has approved sending the aircraft carrier USS George Washington to the Yellow Sea off the Korean Peninsula, where North Korea allegedly sank a South Korean warship in March.

Two U.S. military officials said U.S. Forces Korea was expected to make the announcement Thursday. The officials declined to speak on the record because the announcement had not been made.

But Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell told CNN, "No carriers are going anywhere near there anytime soon." However, the military officials are planning for the deployment and said they expect it to be announced.

Why in the world would we send a strong message to North Korea, when Hilary Clinton can pen a firm letter?

We're doomed.

I approve of the measure, approve of all our fine sailors, yet I know that not in A MILLION YEARS will this carrier see action under this administration WHATEVER PROVOCATION MAY COME.

DISGUSTED.

Which is worse, telegraphing our intentions or giving North Korea a green light?

Hmmm...

This administration couldn’t manage it’s way out of a revolving door.

Most countries have satellites and tracking capabilities. Even if we don’t make an announcement, they’d know something is moving somewhere.

And that movement transmits intentions, and allows for a nation backing down while saving face.

It’s just amazing to watch an administration bumble along with 9 year old logic.

China is going to school on this.

Including receiving live fire, like an Exocet or NK equivalent. The surface fleet would be well advised to keep their mouths shut... like the submarine force, the silent service with SLCM (submarine launched cruise missiles) and anti-ship rockets. Littoral combat comes into its own.

And, the time needed 1million plus NKs infiltrating their pre-placed incursion tunnels and overrunning Seoul? Where is the manual on our response— we’ve been there a while. Obama wants this to fail also?

Of course they're denying it....

Ted Striker: My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar.

Elaine Dickinson: When will you be back?

Ted Striker: I can't tell you that. It's classified.

Our side folded like origami.

South Korea folded when it allowed sanctions to be relaxed, allowing garlic export etc. and opening a way to pay North Korea for it, plus whatever additional protection monies are paid. Its Danegeld pure and simple. Ditto for the US State Department sending aid.

That is why Chia Head threw a celebratory party. It was one so grand that one of his closest advisors and top Jong Un supporter died in a drunk driving accident in the wee hours after it.

It takes money to keep loyalty in NK - especially for a jerk like Jong Un. Thus the nuclear and other blackmail had to be employed, especially after the currency fiasco. It was for Jong Un’s “dowry” as he is married to the elite in NK.

By the way, have you see a picture of Jong Un? He has eyes like a cold dead fish.

SONOBUOY PING!

Click on pic for past Navair pings.

Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.

Putting a carrier into the Yellow Sea would be nuts. The whole point of a CVBG is letting stand-off distance work in your favor. No need to be closer than the south coast of Japan, say.

Hope it’s the far southern end of the Yellow Sea.
