No, I don’t, but in these days of the Internet, that doesn’t mean as much. At least you guys don’t have Jim Moran as your representatives until probably he dies (as in my case).

Agreed. After Wayne headed out to support Harry Reid during Searchlight, I knew it was no longer acting in the best interest of the 2nd Amendment. I’m switching loyalty to Gun Owners of America.

I just joined the NRA a few months ago. There was a 5 page piece on Harry Reid’s ‘heroic’ efforts in procuring land for a range in Nevada.

The NRA is famously part of the Washington Establishment.

NRA gives harry Reid a grade of B. GOA gives him a F.

True, but you play with the hand you are dealt.

Well, until you wake up to the fact that "the game" is rigged and stop wasting your chips.

That’s why I wish a fresh person stepped into the primary. Both McCain and J.D. carry baggage. It just boils down to which you want to deal with.

So? The NRA has been dead to me for 20 years. Endorsing McLame just proves - again - that I made the right choice.

It's a similar situation with Brewer.

(after SB1070) "Brewer is awesome!"

(after McCain endorsement) "Brewer is a RINO!!!"

This is no knee jerk on my part. I have hated and mistrusted McLame for years. The NRA lost it’s stones and I quit them.

Yep, NRA has no right to endorse whomever they choose as fit. McCain will win. Life goes on.

The NRA has long since become part of the GOP establishment and is simply protecting one of its own. The back-room boys still don’t get it. People are mad as h-— and they’re not going to accept the status quo. The marketing wizards at NRA haven’t got a clue what they’re about to do to themselves.

Why of COURSE! [forehead smack]

This was so obvious; shoulda seen it coming like a tsunami.

Look, here’s the rationale:
NRA needs to have some clear-and-present threat to grab onto to EITHER keep the 2nd Amendment looking precarious OR make potential threats loom larger (or BOTH), so they can keep up the “OMG we’re gonne lose our rights!” drumbeat. That is, after all, what fuels funding and membership efforts.

Now, it’s not that there’s no threat to the 2nd Amendment, it’s that supporting McCain may help there be more of a dire need for it in the future. See, support for McCain creates the prospect for new legislation on illegal immigration that would, in turn, create an elevated NEED for residents of AZ (and at least 47 other states) to guarantee unmitigated access to their 2nd Amendment rights by raising the spectre of citizens having to defend themselves with lethal force from an onslaught of illegal immigrant perpetrators of violent crime.

So, essentially, the NRA decides to kick the country in the nuts to make it howl so more people will show up to help them defend it from bigger, badder things that threaten to make the country howl.
