Actually, the Nazis held very few elections once they gained absolute power. The only ones I'm aware of were referenda on major issues where the only question was: Approve or Disapprove.
It was the commies who were fixated on elections and required people to vote all the time in contests where the result was predetermined.
The commies used these elections to give legitimacy to their control. The Nazis did not use elections as justification for their power, they used other means.
Per your point. I suspect your beef is not that we aren't allowed a free choice of candidates, it's that the people you prefer to win aren't doing so. I suggest your complaint should be made to the majority of your fellow citizens, who have the power to alter this state of affairs any time they so choose.
IOW, at the present time we have the government most of us voted for. We may not like the consequences, but we're (as a group) getting exactly what we asked for.
