But you're right, ours are a bit more.....shall we say.......less conspicuous. At least our cops and prosecutors TRY to make is look like they are not trying to humiliate the person. They just happened to stop the white van in front of the gathered throng of reporters and cameramen to escort the handcuffed individual there through the courthouse door.....that's all.
A-a-a-a-n-n-n-d-d-d-d-d the reason for that.......is b/c civil libertarians would be all over L/E------the perp would even get off scot-free, and be compensated, for having his figgin' "civil rights" trampled.
BTW, the only recent US incident of the perp being set apart for humiliation was swindler Alan Stanford---who got videoed in handcuffs and orange jumpsuit walking to jail---b/c he had the audacity to go on TV and lacerate L/E for his troubles.
